Getting back more of Lingo Player's old functionality
It hasn't been updated for some time and lost Google's translation and audio function.
There is a way round to bring back its translation function for subtitled YouTube videos
1) copy the YouTube url
la casa de mis suenos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe66oKEsIhw
2) take the url here and download the video and the SRT files of your choice
http://www.lilsubs.com/#
!It does not work with every video file, you may also try "4K Video Downloader"
3) open the video and the two srt in Lingo Player, the match is a hundred per cent
You can move the sentences forward and backward without playing the video

You could also use the two SRTs in SMPlayer where you can adapt size, colour and position to your liking.

Using Deepl translations in the second subtitle. You can do this with any TV program that has subtitles.
1. You have a subtitled TV program on your computer. You must separate the SRT file from the film first. I use ProjectX:
https://www.chip.de/downloads/ProjectX_15629057.html
ProjectX works only with films in SD, not HD.
2. You have your SRT file now with the original subtitles.
Copy the text in the SRT file and have it translated in DeepL:
https://www.deepl.com/translator
DeepL will not translate all oft the text in one go. So you have to do this repeatedly until all the text is translated.
3. Copy the translated subtitles into your SRT file overwriting it (after you have made a copy of the L1 SRT file).
4. Use the two SRT files in SMPlayer. They will be perfectly aligned since
DeepL has kept the time stamps intact.
5. It will be nessary to convert the original TV video file into an avi file. In that process the original subtitle file is removed and the newly created ones can be used.

6. You can make snapshots with the two subtitles easily by clicking on the symbol in the bar.

You could combine single snapshots to get more visual and textual context at one glance.
