I'm on Firefox & Win 7 Home Premium (and see blue). But sorry, I didn't know <progress> was a standard HTML tag, or I wouldn't have brought this up - I know HTML elements look different across different platforms.

Me, too.
OK, so it's actually a system colour. I am still using the "Window Classic" theme (where windows have straight angles instead of rounded angles). If I change it to "Windows 7 Basic" theme, I get these animated bars in the colour of slime. No, thanks.
