Outage on Site 06/07 December

I keep reading "Outage" as "Outrage", but I guess both read. "Outage" describes the server side, while "Outrage" describes the client side

For better or worse (I'll go with better) not everyone has Facebook. I also somehow didn't get on the mailing list despite being around and active during the creation of this site. My first instinct was actually to check Twitter but that's because the other social networking site that I use (Ravelry) posts their outages on Twitter.

Yes, I'm sorry if it sounded like I was saying everyone is or should be on FB. But you didn't check the wikia either, it seems.
As far as I know there was no announcement via the mailing list. I was just reminding everyone that it exists.

I am not on Facebook, but I did check HTLAL, and I also have the link to the Wikia stored somewhere

No offense taken - it seems, at least in my section of the world, that people assume everyone has facebook so I tend to often be the odd one out. I also just forgot the wikia existed which is totally my bad. I ended up checking HTLAL after looking at various Twitter accounts.

The problem with the mailing list is it runs from this site to tell you about outages on HTLAL. We never setup a mailing list to work the other way around!

Another issue I need to take away and fix. BTW the mailing list uses the email address you gave when you signed up here. So you need to make sure it ia kept updated here.

I can establish a simple mailing list on mailchimp for outages on both sites. I will let you know details when I get it sorted.

Yeah as I said I didn't really expect anyone to check the wikia so I didn't update it

Actually I had a look at the wikia several times (I'm not on FB), but since there was no info I assumed I either was in the wrong place (another wikia?) or that nobody had any info... Anyway - I'm glad that everything works fine now.
