What's that grey band at the top?

Today, I've been getting a grey band at the top of the forum web pages. It's got an X in the corner to
close it, which I do, but it comes back when I navigate to a new page. It's like the grey band should have a message in it but it doesnt. Just curious - can anyone enligten me?

Okeydoke. See below. Sorry if imgur is not an elegant way to do this - not sure about the best way to post pics. Is we_universal my style/theme? The grey band is not appearing on every page now - It comes and goes. Not a big deal but I thought I might be missing out on some message that wasn't displaying correctly.

Hmm that's what some ads look like for me when adblock hides them. I don't think we have any ads though

I wonder if it's just me? Maybe this thread will reveal that others are having the same experience. Meanwhile, I think I'll go clear my browser!

I guess I should add that I am using an iPhone and have no kind of third party Adblock thing.
Anyway, not such a big deal.

Well I can confirm that there are no adds here. If there are, I'm certainly not getting any money!

Can you try out a different theme to see if the band is still there? For example prosilver?

Mm. Now I'm seeing some text. It is indeed an ad for an English Centre, so targeted advertising I think.

I tried clearing my cache and changing to pro silver but those changes made no difference.

As no one else has reported anything yet I'm starting to feel a little paranoid about my phones security!

No, not getting it on other sites BUT yes getting it on the static site. I'm getting a bit of variety in the ads now - Datsun, some brand of water.
So I guess it seems specific to LLORG. I wonder if others are experiencing this.
