I've been thinking that maybe a subforum about general learning could be useful For links and articles about being a better learner in general (including lifestyle advice), how what we learned from other subjects can help us become better language learners, as well as discussing learning language-related things like translation, teaching etc. Articles about learning other things can be posted if [some of] the advice applies to language learning.
What do you think?
Some examples of threads that would go there:
BBC: the brain's superpower of self-improvement
Coursera: learning how to learn
Subforum idea: general learning

Re: Subforum idea: general learning
This is definitely something I would participate in. It's striking how many similarities I run across between language learning and learning a musical instrument, and it would be fun if there were a place where such a discussion topic wouldn't be too off the wall.
And as I mentioned in another thread, I'd love to to read and discuss more about current research on learning,

I like this idea too.
It would be a good addition to what the forum is about.

Yeah and this reflects the "learners" part of the forum name well

Re: Subforum idea: general learning
Yeah, broadening the scope of the forum is a good idea and discussions on teaching and learning techniques sounds like an appropriate way to add more depth to the forum.
