I use a board style called prosilver, and I can see 'search' under Quick links, but there is also a search field in the fat blue line with "phpBB..."

Why? It's ugly and less easily readable.

Actually I use it too. I find it much better and more readable. But maybe we are just used to it.

It reminds me of the internet in the late 90s. I rather like the default skin on this website.
