A simple copy/paste from Nandemonai's post works for me.
It looks like these are just characters, just like 你 or ç.

Trying out other unicode characters (too bad mahjong and flag characters don't seem to be supported...)

Don't mind me, just storing a few icons in this thread

I can't see Nandemonai's signs (unless they are designed to look like boxes with something inside). I think it depends on what other things you have installed on your computer or phone, not on an inventory somewhere in BB. The following square was taken as a symbol from MS Word: □

✖ຽꜜㄲᛝ 你

I had a look into this, and it appears to have something to do with UTF8 and BOM (Byte Order Marking). While all the utf8 characters above worked, none of the UTF8 emoticons worked. A byte-order marker is required for multibyte encoded data, including UTF-16, to indicate big-endianness or little-endianness – the order in which bytes are arranged.

You can always use the img tag.

EDIT:
An additional problem is this system uses a database which doesn't support Unicode past the Basic Multilingual Plane and emoticons are past this. The two symbols for the tickmark and the X are both in the wingding symbols set and are in the supported basic multilingual plane.

That is my theory...

pinkyslippers wrote:Thank you all. I got what I needed from this website in the end https://unicode-table.com/en/ and was able to make some pretty stars for my book reviews. I'm not sure if others can see them but they look good to me. All very frivolous, indeed!

Thanks again :)

Have a look at the website: https://utf8-icons.com/ many of them will work. Glad you solved your problem. :)
