Hello,
I recently bought a new Mac, and for some reason the Forvo downloads are not showing the Japanese characters.
I validated my fonts, and I noted that the Japanese characters show up when I play the audio files on the Music app.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks in advance,
Xenops
Edit: It appears to be a Safari problem, as Opera can download the Japanese just fine.

Inside Safari, try:
View >> Text Encoding >> Japanese (Shift JIS) (<- if that doesn't work, try one of the other Japanese options)
Or you might try this to fix things at a higher level:
Apple Menu >> System Preferences >> Language & Region >> General >> Preferred languages
Put Japanese right under English (or order the languages you use to reflect frequency of use)
While you're in System Preferences, you might also want to make sure you have Japanese enabled under Keyboard
Apple Menu >> System Preferences >> Keyboard >> Input source >> + >> Japanese (there's also some fine-tuning you can do once you've added Japanse to the list)

Thank you for the suggestions tangleweeds, I appreciate it. For some reason, none of these options are working: I put the Text Encoding for all of the Japanese options, and just for funsies, I put it in Chinese as well (and got completely different characters).
For System Preferences, I regularly switch to Japanese for input, so I have the language listed already.
I'm not terribly concerned, since at least one browser can download them correctly, it is just my preference if I use Safari for Forvo. It could be that Forvo only works best for certain browsers?
Thank you again.
