EMK looked at the load balancing after the AWS changes, and I believe he did some of his usual magic.

I was getting 503s for a while last night (maybe 4-6AM GMT). It wouldn't load at all.

My impression right now it that is happens all the time with no reference to what I'm doing (and when it works it's slow - I can see that on the waiting time for images)

I was going have a moan about the 502 errors, so I wrote a long post and as I hit submit, I got a 502.

If you "reload" the page with your post, which for me in Internet Explorer gives a prompt like, "you want to send that again?", your post will go through when you ultimately get the 200 (invisible but good) return code.
