Prima due-tre parole sui libri letti nelle settimane precedenti.

Image

Image
Natalia Ginzburg - Le piccole virtù (audiolibro, 10 puntate x 25 minuti)

2nd year
Week 33 & 34

I did a two weeks break during the Easter period; however last two weeks were busy and I was learning quite a lot. So here is a short report.

French

I have a new method for conversational/fast speaking/colloquial French - the only aspect of my passive French that still needs more work to reach C2 (I hope so). Basically, I'm watching films and series "intensively", with subtitles and dictionaries, while taking notes in my notebook. Normally there are not many unknown words to search for, so I can concentrate more on interesting/useful expressions and sentences which I can understand from the context but are still not part of my active knowledge. Some examples:

en promo
c'est pas la peine
y a pas à dire
du calme!
faire un tour
je m'en branle
(...)

More or less it's the same thing I'm doing with intensive reading of newspaper articles, books etc...just with more common words and expressions. Obviously, the goal isn't to enjoy the film and follow the story because I need some time to write down expressions...however, I was impressed how much I was able to follow the plot in the same time... One of the series was in Canadian French and it was quite funny (forgot the title).

Other activities
Reading: Stendhal - La chartreuse de Parme, p. 72/741

Italian

Reading: Cesare Pavese: Il compagno, p. 62/164

Week 37
