Re: Three-Horned Bull from the Netherworld - Tarvos' Log

In another fit of "screw you", my new Korean teacher assigned me 24 pages of test material to test my level. You read that right. I did them all, but the last couple pages did my head in, obviously. However, I pretty epically trundled through the whole thing, coolly splitting up the tasks and then finishing them off like a Boss.

When I die, they'll remember me by saying "she don't stop, she be movin' on like a damn steamroller!"

Past couple days have been interrupted by fatigue, so not much study has been done. I feel more tired, but simultaneously unable to sleep, so it's like a double-edged sword: too tired to live, too much energy to die. In this state of variant energy, the most I can do is a lot of watching K-drama and reading (when I don't fall asleep). I also play chess way too mindlessly in this state, so it's a shame, but there's not much I can do about it.

Hormones and other illnesses will do this to you, but I'll be fine. At some point anyway.

I finished La Louve de France, but it ended in an epically boring drudge on how Isabella cheated on King Edward II (who preferred men, or so it was insinuated, though he still had four kids). Hopefully the next installment will be better.

Anyway I am switching off of French for now. I finished another Korean series and I've been studying that pretty hardcore over the past month, as I really want to get better at Korean. My homework was quite okay, so my teacher wants me to use more advanced phrases and verb endings and practice with them.

The past week I haven't done much. I'm nearly finished with a Portuguese book, but it isn't very interesting and quite difficult, so I'm not going to bother you with the details. I will have to do more Korean, which is finally sticking a little bit in my brain. And I did some Spanish homework about sexism and nouns, which was fine.

More interesting things are content you can access through foreign language. For example, I stumbled upon Amarna Miller's youtube channel (warning: she discussed adult content). She's a graduate of the arts, but she's most famous for working in porn. (You read that correctly). She's also a feminist, vegan and polyamorous, bisexual and whatnot... this is the sort of content that I can watch at my level of Spanish (the girl speaks quickly and uses strange words at times).

I am also back to listening to Sólstafir, whose lyrics are mostly in Icelandic (which I understand too little of).

I'll have to have a look at her stuff one day (definitely not soon though!). I'm not interested in porn or veganism, but does anyone know of feminist and/or LGBT youtubers in French? I have one or two in Russian, but always nice to have more there too!

There is Ginger Force. She is a feminist YouTuber. She has a playlist where she gives a feminist perspectives on certain topics or challenges certain misconceptions of feminism. Most of her videos have French subtitles.

Tout est politique is pretty good as well. A critique and analyse of certain tropes in films and how it can perpetuate certain stereotypes and the implications behind it.

I haven't watched much of Princ(ess)e videos. From what I've watched their content is quite focused on LGBT issues and history and topics.

I have never watched Lez Talk. I've seen their videos float up on my feed every now and then. They're a lesbian couple sometimes tell storytime, do reaction videos etc.

I hope you find it useful.

Sounds good, feminist talk in French. It's the language to shrug and be indifferent towards machismo in.

Si c'est tellement bonne langue pour tant de choses, pourquoi vous ne répondez pas en français? Ça ferait l'histoire plus intéressante et moins ennuyeuse. Et j'aurais une raison pour le pratiquer.
