So, I really like the actor Franka Potente. She did a couple of my favourite films - Run Lola Run, and The Princess and the Warrior. There is also an older (‘80s?) German film called Das Boot, that I remember liking a lot. There’s really a lot of good German films out there, unfortunately I don’t know or study German so the titles mostly escape me!

Thanks for the recs, I saw Run Lola Run a really long time ago, I will check that out again and the other ones as well :D

Late night log update: Read in Korean, right now aiming to have about 1k more "known words" every 4 days. Using this metric as a way to read a certain amount of text daily, but I think I need to switch to timing the number of minutes/hours of time I read. As I acquire more vocab, the rate at which I add known words to Lingq is increasing.

Only did Korean today. From now on I'm recording how many minutes of study I do daily for each language. Aiming to be more systematic like Dr Arguelles is. He shows his language log somewhere in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oudgdh6tl00

Still working through the 김영하 podcast. I'm so glad I moved away from learner materials. The podcast is really interesting!

Today’s update: felt tired when I got home from the office so I just did a bit of reading in Korean and watched a drama. But I have a fair amount of momentum going now after keeping this up since I started my log. Will have to continue with intensity tomorrow. Also this upcoming Monday is a holiday so I’m planning to spend the day reading and painting miniatures (just bought a kit for beginners (Reaper Miniatures 08906 Learn To Paint Bones Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NTMC49G) after getting inspired by the https://reddit.com/r/MiniPainting subreddit).

Ended up taking a couple day's break and today did another section of the podcast plus some easy content (TTMIK 이야기). My motivation continues to be my goal of reading a novel, away from the computer. Not sure how much longer it'll take me but I figure I better keep reading and I'll get there soonish.

Did a couple hours of Korean and a bit of German. Read a really interesting article in Korean about the founding of the Israeli state (https://www.lingq.com/learn/ko/web/course/98902).

My current plan for German is to reach a passive intermediate level and start reading some books. But I'm doing it on the side, Korean is definitely the priority.

Learning a language is a huge emotional commitment (not in a bad way).

More reading today, including some stuff from Voice of Russia published in Korean. Didn’t feel up for studying German when I got done with that, but I did have 2 more German language learning books arrive in the mail.

Wrapped up the evening by reading the first three chapters of Bulgakov’s The Master and Margarita.
