bpasseri's 2018-2019 super challenge log!

Postby bpasseri » Tue May 01, 2018 1:21 am

I've decided to take on my first super challenge!!!

Language: Family - Romance
Challenge: Double, divided
Current level: Spanish C1, French B2, Italian & Portuguese A2 active B1 passive

Spanish and French have been with my for a long time (school, college, abroad) and shouldn't be an issue... I already consume native media in both of these on a regular basis (spanish more so than french... mostly because my roommate is puerto rican and so I actually have someone to do things with  ) but Italian and Portuguese I haven't had formal instruction in. Luckily the romance crossover allows me a high enough of a passive level to read and watch tv/movies in both, but I'd like to eventually work on my active skills in these two!

I plan on doing a half challenge for each language to add up to a double challenge for romance languages (50 books and movies per language) and have the current resources on deck:

Spanish:
Vivir para contarla (Gabriel García Márquez)
Malcriados (Netflix)

French:
La liberté des savanes (Robert Lalonde)
Breathe (Netflix)

Italian:
Il sogno cattivo (Francesca D'Aloja)

This is always the most difficult one for me to find resources for... open to suggestions! :D

Portuguese:
Diário de um mago (Paulo Coelho)
3% (Netflix series... not technically a movie but season 2 just got released!)
