I've actually ordered there before! I got my Winnie the Pooh book from there when it was on sale!
I discovered Google Play Books. Such a gem! I found this book called 보통의 존재 - Common Being and could actually understand the preview! I'm so tempted to get it now But I will first try to finish a few other books. I do think it might be a good book to read though. Certainly easier than 82년생 김지영 and probably also easier than the story about food poisoning at school or a family owning a restaurant.
I started reading Penguin loves Mev. I'm not done with Dana in Korea but felt like trying something different. Will probably finish that one this week though.
Reading Penguin loves Mev certainly isn't that difficult. I can read a whole chapter and just find a couple of unknown words. I'm keeping a vocab list, feel free to use it. It should be public, if not then let me know.
Some things I learned while reading:
A piece of cake: 식은 죽 먹기
Grammar:
-(으)ㄹ 테니까:
Expresses a suggestion or advice in the second clause. So the second clause usually ends with forms such as -(으)세요, -(으)ㄹ래요, -(으)ㄹ까요, etc. The first clause provides the reason as to why you are giving the advice. The reason is based on an assumption or supposition.
Cannot be used with 고맙다, 미안하다, 걱정하다. First person only.
Example:
가: 요리하고 있나요? 제가 도와줄까요?
나: 농약이 아마 야채에 남아 있을 테니까 사용 전에 씻으세요.
-(으)려면:
Expresses a plan or intention in the first clause, with the required condition that needs to be met in the second clause.
Shorter form of -려고 하면.
Example:
농구를 잘하려면 점프를 잘해야 돼요.
If you want to play basketball well, you have to be able to jump high.
컴퓨터를 많이 하면 눈이 아파요.
If you spend too much time on the computer, you’ll hurt your eyes.
I've been focusing a lot on reading and increasing my vocabulary lately. I tried focusing on other skills a while ago but then felt like it became too much. I've been trying to casually do a bit more grammar by going through the TTMIK lessons. They are bite-sized enough not to take up that much time. I've also been using Hellotalk occasionally. Now I just need to fit in some listening practice! I think I'll just use TTMIK for that as well.
That's it for now. Have a nice week!
