French:
I've been watching some really cool documentaries lately and found a lot of cool books on Medieval history by experts, the French Revolution, and a really cool series of books called Le Livre Noir. I don't know if it's actually a series or not, but I found that title in works on the French Revolution, Communism, serial killers, pornography, the banks, and so forth.
Some of the documentaries I've been watching are from Enquete d'action, complement d'enquete, and going through the Apocalypse series again. The most recent one being Verdun. I finished the one on WWI last week and it was really well done. I only watched the WWII one before but I forgot it and I watched it in English last time.
Spanish:
Finished episode 4 of Vis a vis. Watched Quien mato a bambi. My listening comprehension has been a little sloppy again probably due to a large Spanish negligence. I'd like to work on it again by reading some books, finishing Vis a vis, and watching a few more movies by the end of May.
German:
Gave up on Antony Beevor since he was kind of boring so I switched to John Keegan's Der Zweite Weltkrieg whose student was actually Beevor. I find his writing much more entertaining and not as dense.
I finished season 1 of Mord mit Aussicht which was difficult at first then by the end of the season got easier. I watched the first episode of Munchen Mord which was a bit harder for me but I got the gist of it. I feel like I'm approaching fast to C1 - maybe by the Summer or end of I'll be there as far as passive skills go.
Italian:
Reading Scipione e Annibale - a biography of two of the greatest generals of their time. Since there isn't much info on them both, the author decided to piece them together. I have one more chapter to go before I finish part one which is about 30-35 pages on my ereader.
I also watched Ogni maledetto natale which was boring after the first half and two episodes of Il sistema which is a show about a cop's brother killed by, I believe the 'ndrangheta?, and who goes undercover to infiltrate their dealings in Rome. It's pretty good despite the length of the episodes.
Russian:
Watched two episodes of Freud's method - a Russian version of Sherlock in a way. Reading some Goosebumps books in Russian which is really hard right now. I decided to get some listening done first then go back to reading.

Thanks for the names of a couple of these documentaries. Can you share the names of the others? They sound right up my alley! And I find that documentaries are some of the easiest native audio content for me.

I'm currently reading a biography of Eleanor of Aquitaine, who I previous knew best from her part in the 1968 Lion in Winter film . She had a ridiculously full life.sillygoose1 wrote:French:

Sure!
ARTE has some really cool documentaries on a wide range of subjects from space, to Houdini, to the Corsican mafia and really just about anything you need. You can look through them here: http://boutique.arte.tv/t2-documentaire
There's also another investigative program called 90 Enquetes.
The other ones(Livre noir) are books that I downloaded online or got from Amazon. If you go on amazon.fr look for livre noir du communisme, de la revolution francaise, etc. The others (l'industrie rose, serial killers) I downloaded. They seem to be investigative or large compilations of essays from historians. Really cool stuff nonetheless.
For the Medieval stuff, my go to guy is Jacques Le Goff who specializes on everything you need to know about that time period

Tipo 1992, La porta rossa, e evidentemente Gomorra etc.
