Hi! Nice to see you making progress and investing this time in French.
Just a small correction:
Je vais etre bien organise= i want to be organized LOL (That means : I am going to be organized)
I want to be organized = Je veux être bien organisé!
Of course Gonfler= annoy is true but be careful that it is very colloquial!
Hope I could be of use and this show seems really nice so good luck :D

havent touched french formally for ages, but have been on and off netflixing with the circle in french, marseille, and of course into the night which just came out!
really enjoying just immersing in the language in my free time instead of drilling grammar haha but since i have some leave this week (and no one can travel anywhere), managed to do:

16/5/2020
- French Blabla Podcast 09 - A day in bath (3mins podcast)
- 6 kwiziq tests
- Revised the Future tense
- Did abt 30mins of easy french step by step
- CBF S3 ep 3 and 5

and also set up my notion to record all the new vocab i learnt!
happy to realize i have somehow stumbled through seasons 1 and 2 of coffee break french! although how much i remember is questionable, and i definitely cannot converse with anyone in french, er well at least i'm enjoying it and maybe one day when i have more time (haha) i can get back to italki french lessons to improve on the conversational aspect!

ps: Really loving into the night, reccomend it to anyone who learns language through netflix :)

Just wanted to post my most reccent lang 8 entry (after corrections) as a record of my (not very good) French writing haha.
Also out of interest - I wanted to say that i'm getting cabin fever but the lang 8 correction was "je suis comme un lion en cage." which means - i was like a lion in a cage i guess?
Is there a better way to say i'm getting cabin fever? Haha, very topical for these times.

~

so after i posted this, i went to do some random corrections to bump up my lang 8 points.
then one of the people posted this back:
Thank you for correction.
I checked your post sneakily. Then, I found what you wrote about the same thing with me. This is what I wanted to say.

Haha! so cute.

So, I'm currently on a 1 week leave from work, a much needed break. Spending it fairly equally between revising emergency medicine (my specialty), home crossfit workouts (the new polyglot fitness challenge is TOTALLY up my alley!!), and also getting back into the hang of French and language learning! Everytime I have a one week leave (this happens around once every 3-6 months depending on what posting I'm in..), then I will generally pick up language learning again, book some italki classes, etc haha. This ends up being a bit disjointed honestly but oh well haha no choice!

The leave ends in a few days so with all likelihood the next time I pick up french learning in earnest with grammar books and all will be in 3 months time oops but with some hope, I'll at least manage to keep up with french netflix, and if some of the new italki tutors work out, maybe I'll manage to do one italki lesson every 2 weeks? (much optimism).

Anyway here's the language learning log for past 2 days:

19/5/20
- 3 eps of netflix the circle! (skipped ahead to the last episode which is HILARIOUS. totally reccomend this series. although i should go back and rewatch to mine for new vocab. haha)

20/5/20
- 1 page of harry potter! have a "Folio Junior" version of À L'école des sorciers

new vocab learnt from harry potter so far that i've put into my notion vocab list:
J'affirme- i say/ affirm/ assert
avaient -had
toujours - always
fierté - pride
quiconque - anyone
pas de temps - no time
sornettes- nonsense
diriger - to direct
perceuses - drills
mince - thin
moyenne- average

plan for the rest of the day (apart from studying on ECGs which is my main focus currently..):
- lesson 12 for grammaire progressive du francais niveau debutant [prepare for italki lesson]
- finish up lesson 6 for grammaire progressive du francais niveau intermediare [there's a discord server where we go over the books, pretty cool!]

So yesterday despite the best laid plans, I mainly binge-watched netflix the circle France hahah - currently at ep 9 now! C'est vraiment amusant! L'amitié du trio magique est trop mignon.

Today (21 may 2020)
- studied the subjunctive with youtube videos (learn french with alexa and pascal), as well as 2 Kwiziq subjunctive quizzes [this was a productive one! and i've never actually learnt the subjunctive before, so this was fun:))
- recorded a few new words/ phrases into my anki deck
- lesson 12 of grammaire progressive du français

Tomorrow mainly the plan is for 1 italki lesson then it's back to work.

The litmus test really is whether I can keep up with language learning when i'm not on leave/ holiday, er, I suspect not really, but it's nice to know that even after a long hiatus, I still remember some grammar faintly!

Also looking back at my Notion French Vocab Deck, I learnt 128 new vocab words (mainly from netflix, random podcasts, news, etc)

I also learnt 3 new grammar points:
- Le future vs le conditionnel
- Les possessifs
- The subjunctive

I've also started using my comp to type the accents on words so as to improve my french spelling.
So all in all, not too bad a run for a week of leave off work!

A bientôt! Rester en sécurité et en bonne santé tout le monde!

Had a really fun italki lesson today with a new tutor Myriam! I'm aiming to book at least 2 lessons with her in June haha. Also I'm happy to report that my pronunciation seems to be improving! I actually attribute this to (1) Tom my previous italki teacher (omg really need to book another lesson with him soon) who drilled me ++ on pronounciation - like literally, he won't let me move on until I get the correct pronounciation, and (2) watching loads and loads of french netflix haha. I calculated how many mins of french listening I had from the circle and it was 12eps x 40mins each = 480mins!

Although loads of it is mainly "circle, message" and "envoyer!" and "j'ai peur" and "alerte!!", I also learnt the following words literally just from the circle (selected a few vocab that brings across the mood of the show very well HAHA and that is used veryyy frequently in the show)

franchement - frankly/ candidly
truc - trick
honnetement - honestly
sache que - subjunctive for savoir = to know
continue à me faire rire - continue making me laugh
choqué - shocked
hurle - yell, scream
kiffe- to like
brise l'harmony des alliances - break the harmony of the alliances
blague - joke
vrai - real
clairement - clearly
un coup de coeur - crush
je t'apprécie beaucoup - i like you a lot
berger - shepherd
méchante - nasty/wicked/ mean
bouée de sauvetage - life buoy
mérriterait - deserves
lueur d'espoir - hope/ glimmer of light
échapper - escape
Je flippe - I'm freaking out

Hi humerusthings, I'm new here and have really been enjoying following your log! I like the frequent updates, even when they're small, and it looks like you're pursuing a pretty solid variety of approaches and materials. Definitely some inspiration here for when I start up my own language log.

A couple notes on your last set of vocabulary:
truc - This does mean "trick" like you said, but a lot of the time it just means "thingy"/"thingamabob." Always super useful in conversation when you don't know the actual word for what you're talking about
mérriterait - Just one r (mériterait). This is in the conditional, so this would generally be "would deserve"
vrai - Usually "true," and real is often "réel."
