This is one of the most cryptic things I've ever read.

It wasn't my intention to be so cryptic. On a second read, I have to agree with you. It's job stuff. It's nothing I can yet call news, but it might become news at some point, in which case I'll share. If it doesn't become news, I'll also share.

Well, it's been a while. I passed the Swedish course that I had been taking and am therefore now a certified Swedish speaker. The course is meant to certify a C1 level. (Although, one can get different grades in the course, which throws into question that assertion. However, I passed with an A, with over 90% in three of the four modules, so I don't need to question my own abilities that much). The thing I was so cryptic about was a job with Walker Books in their foreign rights department, which I didn't get. However, I did get accepted into a place on Lund University's Publishing Studies course which came as a real surprise, as I had been removed from consideration quite soon after submitting my application. Except, clearly not.

The course is in Swedish and has a component on editorial work in Swedish, with a strong focus on proofreading and copy-editing. I don't know how well I'll do with that, but I'm certain that it can only be good for me. Fingers crossed, eh?

February is also the month where I'm going to try and shoehorn in some German time. It has been mostly lacking recently, as all my efforts have gone towards Swedish. My spare time Norwegian listening is still going, although my pace has slowed. I've certainly listened to over forty hours of this podcast, which is over forty hours of Troendelag dialect. Today someone gave me directions in Danish and I understood.

How's it going with all of you?

Thank you! I'm feeling proudest of my Danish achievement right now  although he was almost certainly Swedifying his Danish! The podcast is the same knitting podcast I sent to you to sample, Marits Garnkaos, for anyone else who's interested. It's actually on youtube, with video, but many knitting 'podcasts' take that format.

Which Norwegian podcast is it? (I'm thinking it'll be my next "morning walk" language, but not anytime soon.)
