Nope, Chung recommended to use it (and advised against the old version and TY, both from the same author).

The amount of unknown vocabulary is increasing starting with unit 3. There goes my plan of doing 1 unit per day. Rinse and repeat.
It probably was a bit naive of me to think it would go as easily as TY Finnish given I have less than half the vocabulary in Slovene I had at that time in Finnish.

I just read about possessive adjectives derived from nouns in Slovene. But turns out it is only one of 3 variants to express possession. This paper compares Slovene, German and dialects:

Using a pre-made Slovene-German deck highlights some weird features of German. Like translating "marelice" with "Aprikose" instead of "Marille". You shouldn't let Germans make the translations, you miss out all the nice cognates.
And it should of course be "marelica" for the singular or be translated with the plural :/

Another fun fact about food:
In Austrian German we call green beans (haricots verts) for "Fisolen" and all other kind of beans for "Bohnen". In German German it's all "Bohnen". Of course you can specify which ones. In Slovene, it's all "fižol".

Potatoes can have many different names in German dialects, but they have something to do with the ground/soil. Where I am from it's "Erdapfel" (soil apple), in other parts like Swabia it's something like "Grundbirne" (ground pear), but in some dialectal form like "grumbir" or so. In Slovene it's "krompir".

Tomato is "Tomate" in German German, "Paradeiser" in Austrian German (this word is slowly dying out though), "paradižnik" in Slovene.

Buns/rolls are over-regionally called "Brötchen" (small bread) in Germany, but there are lots of regional differences in what is used in everyday speech locally. Here in Austria I guess "Weckerl" comes close to that, but this kinda excludes the more common ones like "Semmerl" or "Flesserl", because you would specify those. In Slovene you have "žemlja", which sounds a lot like "Semmerl", but could be a variety of buns, but you can specify which one you mean.
