Up next https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_1UVsPjqlU :

Vroč sončen dan v noge danes greje (greti) me, - Such a hot day, at the legs warms me today,
In moj korak nekam daleč pelje me. - and my stride leads me somewhere far.
Veter v laseh, trava mi zadiši - Wind in the hair, grass for me smells,
Gledam svet z odprtimi očmi. - I observe the world with open eyes.
Tam nekje v temnem kotu ti sediš, - There somewhere in a dark corner you are sitting,
Poln idej, ki jih v mislih zgubiš. - Full of ideas, which in thoughts you lose.
Ta tvoj nasmeh je izgubil svoj čar - This your smile (your very smile?) has lost its charm
V bistvu ni mi mar. - In principle it doesn't concern me.

Ker tvoj rok trajanja - Because your expiration date
Je potekel za oba - is expired for both.
Nisva midva to, kar sva bila - we (two) aren't that, what we (two) have been
Sreča v očeh - Happyness in eyes
In mladost v dlaneh - and youth in hands
Vsak po svoji reki plujeva - each on their own river we drive

Kot kapitan s svoje ladje ti zbežiš - Like a captain with your ship you flee,
In velik zid zdaj ob sebi gradiš - and a big wall now alongside yourself you build
V meni je moč, da pobarvam nebo - in me is the power, that I color the sky,
Zlato sonce posijalo bo - the golden sun will shine

tough one

Če bom kdaj osamljena, - If I'll ever be lonesome,
me boš še vedno želel, - will you still want me,
boš verjel v naju dva, - will you believe in us two,
a boš od mene odšel? - but will you go from me?

Če bom kdaj objokana, - If I'll ever be tear-stained,
mi boš brisal solze, - will you dry the tears for me,
boš poslušal glas srca, - will you listen to the voice of heart (= follow your heart),
vse naredil zame? - do all for me?

TI si vse kar imam! - You are all I have!
TI me ljubiš kot jaz ne znam! - You love me like I cannot!
TI veš, da zate sebe dam! - You know that for you I lust!
TI si vse kar imam! - You are all I have!

Ko mladost me zapusti, - When youth leaves me,
me boš s poljubi še grel, - will you still go with kissing me,
boš dejal, da jaz in ti - will you say that I and you
sva vse, kar kdaj si želel? - are all you ever wished yourself?

Ko prišel bo tisti dan, - When that day will come,
boš ob meni bedel, - will you hold wake at my side,
mi v slovo podal boš dlan, - will you hand me your hand for farewell,
me še zadnjič objel? - hug me again one last time?

Sonce zaspano - sleepy/dozy sun
zbuja me v nov dan, - wakes me into a new day, (v + accusative)
ko se odločim, - when I decide
da bo kot iz sanj; - that it will be like out of a dream;
kratko krilo s pikami - a short skirt with dots
in pentlja v lase - and ribbon in hair,
čevlji s petko in nasmeh, - shoes with a small heel and a smile,
da pozabim vse, - that I forget everything,
da pozabim vse! - that I forget everything!

Zapleši (zaplesati), nasmej se od srca, - Dance, laugh your head off wholeheartedly,
naj nocoj te nič ne skrbi! - may this night nothing bother you!
Zapleši, nasmej se od srca, - Dance, laugh your head off wholeheartedly,
naj nocoj svet lepši se zdi (zdeti)! - may this night the world appear more beautiful!

In ko po ulici - And when on the street
stopam v korak, - I step in stride, (I march?)
vsakdo v sebi - everybody in oneself
vidi kup napak. - sees a pile of flaws
En nasmeh popravi vse, - one smile corrects everything,
spet daje upanje, - gives hope again,
en nasmeh dovolj je le, - one smile alone is enough
da pozabiš vse, - that you forget everything,
da pozabiš vse! - that you forget everything!

Just a taste of what's to come- in lesson 10 of the Uni Hamburg course, you learn that the direct object of a negated sentence takes the Genitive. Presumably the authors of the course assumed that by the tenth lesson you would be too committed to let this type of grammatical insanity drive you away.

Sounds fun. Like the partitive in Finnish or "ne pas de" in French. Would be interesting to know if definiteness influences this choice of case. "I [don't ride] any bike." vs. "I don't [ride this bike]." I would assume the object of the negation to be different, as indicated by brackets.

Actually that last stanza makes total sense if you speak Russian, for some very odd reason...

I have a weird feeling that there's a lot more to definiteness than I've been told so far. I'm used to the lack of articles in Japanese, but it seems peculiar in an IE language. But maybe not. There is a word for "this," so maybe that's all you need.
