Currently I make use of the Pons audio course, which isn't really an audio course since you are lost without the booklet, but I like it so far. Good audio quality and relatively natural speech.

A trip to Slovenia is in planning.

With the total lack of any suitable pop-up dictionary, my reading is limited to parallel texts and extensive reading with low comprehension. I could look up words in an online dictionary, but I won't bother for anything longer than a songtext.
So I conduct a small extensive reading experiment with low comprehension. I chose Harry Potter because it's supposed to be relatively easy, I've never read it before, I've never watched the movies and I don't care about the story, which means low comprehension won't bother me too much.
I will read the chapters twice, once completely without help and the second time with Swedish audio in the background, so I have at least a clue about the storyline before I move on to the next chapter.

Chapter 1, first reading
I think I could extract the main plot, but I'm lost when it comes to details.
We get to know family Dursley, who live in Rosemarine Street 4. Mr Dursley is a director of the company Gunnings, Mrs Dursey is the sister of Mrs Potter, and they have a son Dudley. Mrs Dursely hasn't have much contact with her sister, but now Lily and James Potter are dead and their son Harry is supposed to live with familiy Dursley. It doesn't seem they are very glad about that.
There is a weird old man walking about in Rosemarine Street, he is called Albus Dumbledore. He meets with a cat, who he identifies as professor McHudurra. They talk about the Dursleys and Potters, and I think they discuss Harry Potter's admission. There is also this Hagrid who comes on a motorbike and has either some kind of speaking problem or speaks a dialect ('guspod' vs. 'gospod' for example).

That's about all I could extract, we'll see how much I missed and got wrong when I go through the chapter the second time.

Yeah, I missed all the fuzz with the owles and people with colourful coats in the city. And the cat actually transformed into a woman before talking.

It's somewhat weird when they use different names, e.g Voldemort = Mrlakenstein. Even the street is different.

Chapter 2, first reading
10 years have passed and it's Dudley's birthday. We follow the family beginning with breakfast and later on through their trip to the zoo. Dudley's friend Piers is also with them, they eat ice cream (well, at least Dudley and Piers), lunch etc. Harry speaks with a snake, a Boa. It's the best day for Harry since long, he doesn't have friends, but usually likes to watch TV. There was also an episode with a hairdresser, relatives and Friggs from across the street, but I don't really know what was going on.

So the Boa doesn't really speak, but signs, except when it escapes (or Harry imagines that). I confused the television thing, Harry would like to watch TV alone at home, but he never is left alone.

I forgot to write my chapter summary yesterday, I hope I can remember a bit :)

Chapter 3, first reading
It's shortly before Harry's 11th birthday, and he gets strange letters on pergament addressed to the exact room he lives in for a few days, even though he moves, first to Dudleys second room, then to a hotel room, i.e. someone must be watching. But his uncle Vernon Dursley wouldn't let him read/keep the letters and gets all stressed out about it, stays at home from work and finally moves into a hotel room with the family. The chapter ends with Harry's filling of 11 years.
There was also a side story where Dudley and Harry got new school uniforms, but Harry's was ugly and stank.

I cheated a bit this time because I pre-listened to a large part of this chapter in Swedish last week.

Chapter 4, first reading
The "giant" Hagrid enters the cabin the Dursleys are hiding in and finally delivers the letter to Harry in person. He also gives him a chocolate birthday cake for his 11th birthday. Hagrid finds out that Harry knows nothing about his family's past, his parents and the magician school (which has some weird name in Slovene I can't remember). Hagrid is furious with Vernon and tells Harry he is a magician and about Mrlakenstein (what exactly I cannot tell). The letter contains the admission of Harry to the magician school.

Chapter 5, first reading
Harry and Hagrid are taking the train to London in order to go shopping for school stuff. Harry gets recognized by some shopkeepers and they have to get money from a bank administered by goblins. The magicians seem to have their own currency. When trying to buy a coat, Harry meets another kid who is going to start in the magician school. The kid is prating along and is going on Harry's nerves.

Glossika recently released its Slovene package. A year ago I would've been excited, now I'm not so sure about it anymore. I've been using Glossika Icelandic (GSR) for quite a while now and I just can't see any huge progress.

Got 10% off via the gathering link, so guess I'll do Glossika anyway (was secretly hoping for this to happen)
