Hey so a Russian neighbour was taking about мажор today (I've gotten at least 6 people hooked on the show) and she said the script wasn't normal Russian, but "organized" Russian as if it were written to be translated into English. Did you notice that or do you ever notice that in Russian tv? I also thought maybe there were some regional differences maybe
because her family is from Siberia, but I have no idea.

I hadn't watched Мажор, so I found the series on youtube and watched a little. For me there's nothing unusual in their way of speaking. But the language really changed first during the 90s, then because of the Internet. We probably speak in more English-like way now not even realizing that.

Yes, it seems Google translated this correct :D . Thank you :)

Something like an update :)
I keep reading the blog about British-American English differences I've mention before. Among other things, that helps me to be less afraid of making mistakes.
Also I've watched a couple of lectures from The Polyglot Gathering.

I've been browsing through youtube and among others have found this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcX2AwH3cG8
Despite its promising name (Three Secrets You Need to Know About Spoken English) the only thing the video reveals is native speakers' misconceptions :( . First off all I can understand her even though I'm not a native speaker  . Then non-native speakers are not idiots and well aware about collocations, idioms, slang, etc. Nowadays there's a lot of ways to learn about that. Yes, non-natives speakers might/tend to use words in, let's say, a different way than natives, but at the same time have no problem to understand the same collocations used in the right way by native speakers. It's two different processes.
To me as a non-native speaker the hardest thing in English is tenses, the second - preposition. Then there's articles, of course, but it's a separate issue

I've decided to delete my signature  I mean "Sorry for my errors and mistakes in English". One of the reason why I put the words there was the comment I mentioned above that natives might confuse me with Google translate or a bot  . That wasn't the only reason but still the signature is like a reminder to me.
And there's the profile, anyway.

--------------
I found the original post about my possible bot-likeness etc. , the irony is that post was actually one of kind (almost) and supportive comments there  :D .

edit: mistakes and wording...

I can imagine what the unkind and unsupportive comments must have been like.

Good decision to delete that signature. You have nothing more to apologise for.
