Okay, quite a bit to write.

On an unrelated note, I've finally gotten the book, blaurebell. I've done the blind contour exercises and just about a half hour of gesture drawing. Quite the experience, I must say. Being forced to sketch a pose in just about 30 seconds really makes me see human movement in a totally different way. The exercises apparently take 375 hours to complete. Yikes. However, I really don't mind progressing slowly. I'm also doing the lessons on the very appropriately named drawabox.com (and the subreddit by the very kind teacher, r/ArtFundamentals). True to its name, you do draw a lot of boxes but considering the fact that I have such a shoddy technical foundation, the exercises will definitely help me a lot.

I've also been having a ton of fun with the fountain pen, especially when I'm practising my cursive. I'm a definite convert now and ballpoints already feel unwieldly. So smooth :D

Russian
I've finally hit a wall with Assimil Russian without Toil, lesson 22 to be precise. While I've been focusing more on speed, as it is an attempt at a speed run after all, I've also been seeing a few grammar concepts in action. However, the amount of new vocab every lesson is overwhelming. I'll give it another go later, when I've progressed a bit further with the other resources as I'm bound to encounter much of the hard-to-stick vocab in other contexts.

Still progressing slowly with Michel Thomas, Duolingo and Colloquial. Slow and steady, they say....

German
Apart from a few pages of Ecce Homo, haven't done much.

French
More watching of Bob Lennon's absolute fantastic Skyrim mega series (200 episodes) I find myself laughing every minute or so and I know that my listening comprehension has definitely improved. I'm close to finishing the half SC (75 hours) and I'm thinking of extending it to 150 hours just so I have an excuse to finish the series :D

Spanish
Nothing special, more Assimil Spanish without Toil. Growing bored and itching to make the jump to native content but I've promised myself that I'll finish at least one Assimil course. Bit of a disappointment as I discovered that my Scriptorium notebook's paper was of a lower quality than I had initially thought, and feathered unpleasantly when I tried to use my fountain pen on it. Oh well, can't have everything.

Oh la la, exam season is here. Although my early morning 6 am- 9 am study block remains, the most I can do now for Russian is to stare wistfully at my new copy of the New Penguin Russian course from time to time as I try to revise my law notes.

Still a better love story than Twilight.

Posting here will dwindle until June, which is the month of my birthday. This log will necessitate a change of name but until then, I remain 'Almost 20 year old Atinkoriko'

Mwahahaha (cue thunderclaps and flashes of lightning)

My French film/video half SC is done! 75 hours of native material completed. However, I've decided to extend it to 150 hours since I still have a lot of stuff I'd like to watch and it's nice to have a progress bar which I can keep updating. I'm just a mere 113 episodes into Bob Lennon's mega Skyrim series and I have over 300 episodes left :o. Absolutely epic. Then, I'd also like to finish the other series which I still haven't finished because of how awesome the Skyrim run is. 75 more hours it is, and gives me an excuse to encounter some French everyday. Unfortunately, the reading part of the SC will suffer but I console myself with the fact that I do read a whole lot in Skyrim anyway (the on screen commands, the dialogue options, the books found in the game etc).
Success either way.

EDIT: Tried to make an edit and ended up replying to myself.

Exams, exams and exams. Still pressing forward with Assimil Spanish, with the plan of finishing the passive wave by early June. It is the last thing I do before I sleep so I have to fight off sleep. Tant pis. Still watching Bob Lennon in between studying and a few exercises from the Schaum's Outline of German grammar I keep by my bed.
I even watched the French Presidential Debate and all. Listening comprehension's definitely improved.
Russian is completely relegated for now since I'll rather not fail my exams.

Bis später.

Where do you get all that energy and motivation? I want some too! Is it your youth or are you on something secret and illegal? :-D

Okay, will be done with exams by the end of the month.

Little update

German
So far, I've completed the first 5 chapters of Schaum's Outline of German Grammar- basically all the declension exercises. Turns out doing exercises in my 15 minute breaks from studying Law is actually very effective in the long run. At this level, grammar study has turned out to be quite enjoyable.

French
More Bob Lennon le Pyro Barbare. Guiltily watched the absolutely epic 300th episode of Skyrim, which ran for 5 hours! Just 15 more hours left for the French SC and Bob is still going strong with his series. So much fun.

Russian
First 4 chapters of New Penguin Russian course, along with colloquial Russian. Time is limited now so that's the best I can do.

Spanish
Getting harder and harder to keep up motivation with Assimil but I am determined to finish the passive wave at least. The active wave is going very smoothly and I think Scriptorium is to thank for this.

Misc
Somehow, I managed to get a copy of Assimil German with Ease off Ebay for only 5 pounds. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the listing but the book arrived in exceptional condition. With luck like this, I should probably buy a lottery ticket.
