Started back on Russian today with a GLOSS lesson at the 2 level (reading): памятный митинг в владивостоке (A memorable gathering in Vladivostok). Very nice intro back.

Have no plan per se, yet. Perhaps after the November Esperanto Sumoo I'll pick up one of my Russian novels and start reading. If that sticks, then I might change my SC to half each Esperanto and Russian. We'll see.

The next Esperanto Sumoo starts on Sunday, which happens to also be Veterans Day AND the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which stopped WWI. I am tempted to finish the book I started back in Moscow, Antaŭ unu jarcento: La granda milito kaj Esperanto. The book is about the use of Esperanto during the Great War. I read the first half earlier this year. Perhaps it is time to read the rest?

But I'm almost done with Serĉu mian sonĝon. I probably won't be able to finish it before Sunday, but surely I'll be done during the Sumoo (probably mid-week next week), so maybe I will move to the WWI Esperanto book after.

Then after the Sumoo, on to Russian. I think I found the book I'll read to get my vocab back up. It's one of the неудачников series Шанс для неудачников. I bought it this last time in Moscow; I had read one of the series our first time in Russia, Вселенная неудачников. It was a fun, easy romp. Hoping for the same with the new book.

A few days into the 55th Esperanto Sumoo and my thriller is getting good! Wish my commute was longer, actually!

Finished Serĉu mian sonĝon over the weekend and (re)started Antaŭ unu jarcento, seeing how it is the centennial of the end of WWI. The book is divided into two parts; I finished the first part some time ago. The second part is about Esperanto during the War, one of my favorite subjects.

Russian coming back slowly. Probably will take the speaking test 3rd week of December and then the DLPT around then. We'll see how that all goes.

DLPT delayed. Guy who gives it here going in for shoulder surgery and out for the entire month of December. And one has to take the OPI within 30 days of the DLPT, so I had to drop the OPI this month until I have new dates for DLPT. Hopefully sometime in January, February at the latest.

Almost done with Antaŭ unu jarcento. Such a great read. Not sure what I'll read after that. This I believe will be my fifth Esperanto book read this year. /shuffles off to check my Goodreads shelf/

OK, so actually, really-this-time, back to Russian today. I started Шанс для неудачников today, happy that I found an audio version for it online for free, so I'm doing LR of it. Boy, it's been a while. And the site for the audio lets you change the speed of the playback, so I'm going through it now at 85% speed, with a plan to speed it up as I go through the book.

Since I last wrote I finished the Antaŭ unu jarcento (One century ago). Very nicely done. So happy with it. Probably will hold off on Esperanto reading till the next Sumoo in January. Of course, I've had plans before and they've gone in the trash when I happen upon one of my Esperanto books. :P butterfly!

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
