Second midterm in my Middle Egyptian class now. Looks hard. Can't wait to get a start on it.
In Complete Croatian I just finished lesson six's exercises. Next up is Alexander & Elias's BCS text's unit six. Had today off from class. Am about a quarter done with Angels and Demons in Croatian. Also five episodes into Novine (The Paper) on Netflix. Great series. Not sure what I'm going to do when I'm done with it.

Oh I'm really jealous! I saw this recommended by someone on Twitter and wanted to watch it but the HRT website wouldn't let me from outside Croatia. Perhaps I need to invest in Netflix

Using a free Croatian proxy server should also do the job I was able to watch Israeli series about the Yon Kippur War by using such a server.

That stinks! Did you try with a VPN?
Today I did a GLOSS listening at level 2, Тајне ходања и трчања на штулама. It was quite hard. Had to do with a Serbian village called Волуја where people learn to walk on stilts from the moment they begin walking. The reason, purportedly, is because they are right on the river Пек. This was just part 1. Will do part 2 on Thursday or possibly tomorrow before class. We'll see how it goes.

No, I was too lazy and I just gave up in disgust! But I may give it a go with a VPN once I've run out of episodes on the current telenovela I'm watching.

Re: My Scanner Life. IronMike's 2022 log (EO,RUS,BCS,EGY)
Holy sh!t, I'm on page 5. WTF?!
We moved back into our home on 1 July, and I did 5 days of no language (mostly) so will only have 26 pts for July in the 365 challenge. Anyway, today was the last day for the current 3-month DLI course for BCS. I'll start a novel in Esperanto as soon as I'm done reading the first volume of Manning's The Balkan Trilogy.
Then I start back with BCS in mid-September till mid-November, after which I'll take the DLPT. Hoping for a 2/2.
Middle Egyptian still going. We're on the penultimate chapter, almost done with it, then chapter 8. Who knows? Maybe we're done with the book by October?

Re: My Scanner Life. IronMike's 2022 log (EO,RUS,BCS,EGY)
I'm back!
As mentioned elsewhere, Middle Egyptian finishes up this weekend, so w00t! Then on 15 Sep we start translating Amenemhat's Instructions to his Son. Looking forward to that.
Croatian starts back up on Monday. Read an article about a Russian soldier defecting to Ukraine today and wow, what are those words?
Our son's wedding was this past weekend in Vegas. Spent a week with his Belarusian in-laws. Lots of Russian speaking, which was a nice refresher.
How are you guys doing?

Wow, Belarusian in-laws!
That must be nice for a Russian speaker. I''m still pretty lost with my new Cantonese-speaking daughter-in-law's family's language, although my three character texts are considered to be amazing things.

Still in the BCS class, did six articles today. Also listened to SBS Bosnian. Don't think I'll do very well on the listening DLPT (hopefully a 1) but perhaps I'll do ok in the reading (2?).
I'll test week of Thanksgiving, then I'll read some Esperanto novels, then around Christmas start working on Russian again for my tests in February.
