Re: Whodathunkitz log Cebuano Spanish Esperanto
Tuesday 4th July
Spanish
You've completed 184 texts containing a total of 90088 words
Some time ago I loaded up loads of texts and videos on readlang.
All A1 done. Not too many A2 left. Then either find more A or go for B levels.
Still finding a few new words, some with no dictionary lookup.
But very many words are second nature now which is very impressive for two weeks of a superchallenge.
But very little chance of production.
Conjugation of verbs is there partly.
Also bought a teach yourself course for ten pounds (16 dollars?). Several books, two course books. 4 plus cds. Did a bit but don't have cd player except in the car.

Re: Whodathunkitz log Cebuano Spanish Esperanto
According to readlang I lost 1 text and 5000 words overnight!
You've completed 184 texts containing a total of 90088 words - 04 July 2017
You've completed 183 texts containing a total of 85033 words - 05 July 2017
Hmm, that's a bit annoying, presumably someone uploaded a 5000 word item which then got deleted (copyright, original sharer?).
This means that my annoying posting of readlang stats is actually useful.

Re: Whodathunkitz log Cebuano Spanish Esperanto
Starting to watch videos.
15 mins video malviviendo 1 terrible sound. Potentially watchable.
Started https://youtu.be/od8wFPmbPgw history of Spain from prehistoric I think. Excellent sound.
I seem to remember that the Roman ones were better as you saw the narrator. Maybe this one.. https://youtu.be/aLpE4BNB2xM

Re: Whodathunkitz log Cebuano Spanish Esperanto
9 July 2017
Cebuano
Spoke a bit, in large gatherings where everyone is speaking Cebuano, people often default to speaking Cebuano to me. But I don't always get the gits of things especially as I've got tail end of a cold.
Spanish
70 minutes of El Ministerio del Tiempo.
Didn't understand much!
Thanks to @cavesa - I've got the scripts and I'll be reading the 14000 words of script 1 soon.
https://forum.language-learners.org/vie ... mpo#p79311
I can't view on the RTVE app, but it was on youtube, seemed to be an official RTVE youtube channel.
After that I'll rewatch episode 1 or start with the script for episode 2 and then watch 2.
Either way, I'll be watching more than once and I'll be counting it towards the superchallenge as it's B1 material (higher than my current level) and deserves / is useful watching two times to get the most from.
Total video now 55+70 = 125 minutes.

Re: Whodathunkitz log Cebuano Spanish Esperanto
Thursday 13th July 2017
Spanish
A couple of days ago I spoke with a Spanish person at the park, our (and my) second Spanish conversation (er, utterances).
Went better, I've got reasonable vocab, but listening is hard (he's from Galicia, as is his wife and they listen to Galicia radio I think) and my output is awful. Partly being unable to form sentences and he was constantly correcting my accent until we both gave up - particularly porque/por que (without a R) and generally ANYTHING with a single R in it!
https://forum.language-learners.org/vie ... 278#p79887 - blaurebell mentions "FSI Spanish Basic course or in Gabriel Wyner's pronunciation trainers" - but I want to concentrate on my SuperChanllenge (which I'm behind with) - so I'll have to decide which to do. Pronounciation i smoer restricted in when I can do it - SC more possibilities - perhaps that's the answer. I do think pronounciation is VERY important and something I have NEVER got right in any language.
Signed up to italki and did first (rushed) post which was corrected. This was an attempt at doing something about output.
Overall, I'm not too fussed (except by pronounciation) as I feel that I'm seeding my brain with dots that my October course can join together. As I was thinking about this analogy yesterday, I kind of formed a phrase in Spanish in my head. I can't remember exactly but something like "las lineas juntos los puntos". It started forming on its own as a thought and then I moulded it a little.
Another 70 minutes of El Ministerio del Tiempo on rtve youtube and then wasted a frustrating hour trying to match a (ANY) script and an episode I can access without VPN as RTVE is region locked for some things and youtube didn't have the episodes I have scripts for. I generally use android for everything, so setting up a Spanish VPN might be annoying. I also now how to check what is available on RTVE even with a VPN.
A little bit of reading El Ministerio del Tiempo script until I realised the matching video wasn't available.
Cebuano - not much, some spoken in the house when we remember, teaching kiddo or don't want kiddo to understand.
