Greek :
I, unfortunately, had my first Greek "lesson" today. I believe I explained this last term but, since I was supposed to spend this year abroad, my university got rid of their modern Greek program and so, when my year abroad was cancelled at the last moment, they had to find someone to "supervise my independent study" of Modern Greek. The book we have been using was so-so with a good teacher, bad with a poor teacher and cannot be used autodidacticly at all, as far as I am concerned. As a result, I do believe that I know a fair amount less Modern Greek now than I did at the start of the academic year.
