I tried to order some books in Catalan today, but the site on which I got them would not let me pay without a CIF which, given I have never even set foot in Spain, I do not have. This was rather annoying. How do other people here get books in Catalan or Spanish outside of Spain?

In addition, I read the "History" section of the Parlons course. Unfortunately, this section was much more a very brief summary of the political history of Catalonia (or rather, the Catalan separatist version of that history) rather than a philological history of the language itself, like in the Ukrainian book. The capacity of Catalans to revise their own history is truly astounding.

There are 100s of "Catalan Edition" books for the Kindle on amazon.com and amazon.ca but if you want physical versions you'll find less selection and higher prices. You can at least search the titles you were looking for and seeing if they're there. You might also check some of the European amazons. I have successfully ordered from amazon.it to the US.

Misadventures in trying to buy books from Spain continues : this is getting extremely annoying. I will probably just end up trying to get what I can from domestic Amazon and put up with the cost.
In addition, I continued reading the Parlons book.

I reread the two dialogues from lesson 8 today. I think that now that I have finished the Assimil course I ought to put more emphasis on Ukrainian, and restart that "Easy Texts" book I was transcribing. It is honestly somewhat pathetic how bad my Ukrainian is given how long ago I started it, but that comes from the fact that it has never really been my number one priority, since I am not getting marked on it, unlike my university courses.
