Ukrainian :

I began the section on relative pronouns today. There are a lot of different forms to write down and learn, so even though there are not that many pages left in the chapter, I shall be progressing rather slowly.

Greek :

I read most of lesson 19 in my book and did most of the exercises. I shall not have as much time tomorrow or Wednesday, so I tried to do most of the lesson today, but I shall finish it before Thursday.

Ukrainian :

I continued reading the relative pronouns section of my grammar, and continue attempting to read my Bible, although it is still far from easy to read any "real" text in Ukrainian.

French :

I had my lit class today although we did not do much in it. I have read through chapter 19 in the Count of Monte Cristo, but I have yet to look at what the home work will be for the next class.

Ukrainian :

I finally finished the chapter on pronouns in my grammar. It was very nice to see everything laid out so neatly. The next chapter is on numbers, and looks quite dense.

Latin :

We finished the fourth eclogue in my class, and have now started book four of the Aeneid, which will, I believe, take the rest of the year. This also is less difficult than I thought it would be, although it is somewhat sad to see the mutilations my fellow students are inflicting on the poetry.

Ukrainian :

It was quite dense. I started the chapter on numbers, and although the inflections are not really different than the various endings I have been learning otherwise for the adjectives, there is a large amount of different forms for each number and various rules for how they interact with other things.

French :
I am continuing to implement my reading plan, and as a result I read chapter 27 of Le Comte de Monte-Cristo.

ouaf, j'ai essayé de lire la bible en Serbe comme partie de mon apprentissage, mais c'était trop incompréhensible à cause des archaismes partout. genre quessé ça un "aoriste"? Ça mange quoi en hiver?

співчуття sypmathy from спів- co-/fellow- + чути to hear + -я a noun derivation suffix - literally "co-hearing" like Greek συμπάθεια

A busy day today :

Ukrainian :
I had more success speaking Ukrainian at liturgy today, which was quite nice. I think my biggest weakness is now lack of vocabulary, not grammar. I also continued reading my grammar book today, and finished the section discussing the second conjugation of the non-past tense. Again, the inflections themselves are not difficult : it is just that predicting the stem from the infinitive is rather challenging.

Français :
J'ai lu chapitre XXXII du Comte de Monte-Cristo aujourd'hui : c'était assez court et pas très remarquable.

Ukrainian :

Past tense verbs today. This is actually extremely simple, by far the simplest thing I have yet to encounter in Ukrainian.

Français :
Je lus chapitre XXXIII du Comte de Monte Cristo. C'était très long. Je peux astheure comprendre pourquoi on me dit que la section italienne du roman se déroule très lentement. Quand même, j'aime voir comment Dumas connecte tous ces facettes variées de l'histoire.
