Been a busy week, still manged to keep on top of Anki everyday and write enough this week...I am
so close to my 8000 target
Had an interesting thing happen yesterday.....my first proper telephone conversation totally in Spanish
My telephone line has a fault and the technician called me to come over and look at it. Normally I just freak out when the phone rings and I spit out "no hablo español" and then they hang up! I'm not good on the phone in any language.
However I knew who it was and I really needed him to come over and fix the phone (I had no phone or internet) , he was on his mobile and I could hardly hear him but I dug deep and attempted to speak totally in Spanish.
I managed to explain the fault on my line and give him direction to my house (no easy task, as my road has no name and I live at the end of maze of tracks). He asked if he could come over that day and I then managed to explain that I had to go out at 2:30 but that before that would be ok. He said he'd be over in 5 mins and checked my instructions to my house with me.
He turned up on my driveway a few minutes later!!!! I nearly cried I was so happy he'd understood me (and I'd understood him) and he had no idea why I was so pleased to see him
Oh and he fixed the fault.
