I found a Youtube channel which has many series. This one is a mix of romantic comedy and drama. Summary here:

After I finish this one, I think I'll choose something from another genre.

2020 - Summary of week 38

One or two books finished. One game of Infinity. While reading The Loom of Languages I became inspired to start studying Latin (again). Not this week though.

CA: Another three lessons from Primer Curso de Catalán. The remaining episodes of Drama. The last two didn't have Catalan subtitles (I chose Spanish instead). What next? Something from TV3 Catalunya, perhaps.

DE: I finished Die Zürcher Verlobung and started another easy reader.

GA: More podcasts. One featured an interview with a guy (the name escapes me at the moment) who sounded like an older Ciarán O'Mhaoinaigh. I think he was from Gaoth Dobhair as well.

PT: More Duolingo and stories.

RU: More Я познаю мир - История России.

ZH: You are my sisters / 你是我的姐妹, episodes 35-37.

I think I had already written that somewhere - since last 500 years is Polish-Russian rivalry, that we lost, you should return to Polish study and look for those events described from the Polish side to create your own opinion :)

No opinion - I'm just trying my best to decipher the damn thing. :D It may not be the best way to improve one's reading skills in Russian (definitely not the quickest...), but I'm plugging along.

Then, in a hundred years or so, I'll ask you for some book suggestions on the topic. ;)

2020 - Summary of week 39

Time for a short update.

One or two books finished.

CA: Another four lessons from Primer Curso de Catalán. Five-six lessons left.

DE: I finished the other easy reader and started a third one.

GA: More podcasts.

PT: More Duolingo and stories.

RU: More Я познаю мир - История России.

ZH: You are my sisters / 你是我的姐妹, episode 38.

-----

At work, I passed by a co-worker who was helping one of the international students.
Co-worker: (Adressing me) Hey, you're back! (Turning to the student) This is the guy I told you about.
Student: Ah, you speak Chinese too!
I: 哪里哪里,我只会说一点点...

2020 - Summary of week 40

Time for a very late update. I came across a bag of second hand easy readers in French, German and Spanish. I also got hold of some material for Bosnian - Gramatika bosanskoga jezika and Bosanski jezik. Maybe a future language for me.

CA: Finally done with the course.

DE: I finished the third easy reader (also the second by Siegfried Lenz) and grabbed one from the bag mentioned above.

GA: More podcasts.

PT: More Duolingo and stories.

RU: More Я познаю мир - История России. Almost done with that one.

ZH: You are my sisters / 你是我的姐妹, episode 39-41. Done! I started watching another series, called Reborn.

2020 - Summary of week 41

Time for another late update. One or two books finished.

DE: More reading in Er war sechzehn, als man ihn hängte (Alexander Goeb). The language isn't difficult. It's Gruppe B - mittelschwer. On Amazon it says Lesen Leicht Gemacht - Level 2, whatever that means. The older Ernst Klett Verlag editions have four levels named A (600 words), B (1200 words), C (1800 words) and D (2400 words).

GA: More podcasts.

PT: More Duolingo.

RU: Finally finished Я познаю мир - История России. I have another volume in the series. Maybe next year.

ZH: Reborn / 重生, episode 2.

2020 - Summary of week 42

Yet another late update. Three books finished - one of them was one of my yearly reads Of Dice and Men (David M. Ewalt).

DE: I finished the easy reader and started etwas ganz anderes - Shogun by James Clavell. I watched the TV series in the early 1980s (just before the ninja-hype reached my neck of the woods), then the reruns in the mid 1990s, but I've never read the book. Not too difficult.

GA: More podcasts.

PT: More Duolingo. Almost done with the tree. Give me another couple of weeks.

2020 - Summary of week 43

Another late update. Next one will not be that late. No book finished. The one I'm currently reading in English is Deception Point by Dan Brown. I read it maybe 10 years ago (in Swedish).

DE: More Shogun. I'm learning some Japanese along the way.

GA: More podcasts.

PT: More Duolingo. The end is nigh!

ZH: Reborn / 重生, episodes 3-4.

Do you find the book as entertaining as the old TV mini-series? Both were very popular back in the day, as I remember.
