2021 - Summary of week 17

First of all - thanks for all the comments last week. That week was... different. Meanwhile I finished the third book by Dr Rangan Chatterjee - Förändra ditt liv 5 minuter i taget (original: Feel Better in 5). I also started reading the first Drizzt novel by R. A. Salvatore. It's called Homeland and takes place in the Forgotten Realms. I've also done the occasional Perl exercise.

NL: More Loyal Books content. I finished one long audiobook (with so-so comprehension), then started another one which was also finished, and finally started another one on Sunday afternoon.

2021 - Summary of week 18

A bit late again. I've finished Stöld by Ann-Helén Laestadius. It was mentioned in Nogon's log just a few weeks ago. Another novel in the pile is Svarta näckrosor by Michel Bussi (Nymphéas noir in the original French). It's the third book I read by him, and the one I like the most. Somehow I'm thinking of Dan Brown and The Da Vinci Code, although the pace and the level of suspense is totally different. Sometimes all that is necessary is a mystery with some art thrown into it. 8-) I'm close to finishing the Drizzt novel. What else? A book on *drum roll* project management. Would you believe that? Herding Cats: A Primer for Programmers Who Lead Programmers by Hank Rainwater.

I also skimmed the romanized dialogue of chapter 1 in Teach Yourself Hindi (link to Goodreads). :o Who knows why I bought it almost 27 years ago, in September 1994, in a bookstore in Inverness. Maybe to let it collect dust, only to open it now.

2021 - Summary of week 19

Almost a week late. Sometimes life gets in the way. Things are out of my control. Nevertheless, I've done my daily/weekly reading. No books finished, though.

At the end of the week, I got hold of some out-of-print RPG material I haven't seen in several decades. (All in Swedish.)

NL: More Loyal Books content.

Hopefully next update will come in just a few days.

2021 - Summary of week 20

Another late update. It was the week of the funeral, so I had a lot of other things than languages on my mind. Only one book finished - Svarta näckrosor (Michel Bussi). Eventually I started reading Rosens namn (Umberto Eco) and Stormvakt (Kristina Ohlsson). The week ended with the wildest migraine I've experienced so far.

I'm sorry for your loss, Jeff.

Reading won't fix that but I hope it succeeded in making you focus on something else for a short while.

I personally like Umberto Eco very much.

I have Name of the Rose in Russian and maybe in BCS, but I haven't dared to try reading it. I love it so much in English, maybe I should? Perhaps when I start Russian at the end of the year.

Yeah, why not! I just mentioned to another member that I have it in Dutch.
