2019 - Summary of week 7

Another late (and similar) update.

CA: 42th week of Catalan - 42080 reps.

DA: I kept listening to the Danish audiobook and watched a couple of Rejseholdet episodes.

DE: More podcasts from Deutsche Welle's Top-Thema Lektionen.

GD: 43th week of Gaelic - 43040 reps.

RU: More Tasteofrussian.

ZH: More Mandarinbean. A couple of HSK3 stories daily.

2019 - Summary of week 8

An update which I will edit and update as I assemble my notes... This is a start.

CA: 43th week of Catalan - 43130 reps. A while ago, I was recommended to have a look at TV3 Catalunya. So I did, and I found more than 300 (!) episodes of the drama Com si fos ahir (including subtitles). They'll keep me busy for a while.

DA: I finished the Danish audiobook and watched more Rejseholdet (only a handful left - the horror!).

GA: Inspired by one of my current musical projects, I skimmed the bilingual booklet of the classic recording Ceol Aduaidh (1983). I understand a lot more of it now compared to when I bought the album (20 years ago?).

GD: 44th week of Gaelic - 44090 reps.

2019 - Summary of week 9

I never got to updating the previous post. Maybe this week.

CA: 44th week of Catalan - 44030 reps. At the end of the week, the Catalan course stopped working all of a sudden. The English sentence played, but then nothing. I tried three devices (laptop, tablet, phone). Strangely enough, the Gaelic course worked fine (and I've done more reps there, if the amount of data was an issue). Anyway, I finally managed to catch up while using another computer at another place.

DA: I finished another Danish audiobook as well as the Rejseholdet series.

GD: 45th week of Gaelic - 44990 reps.

2019 - Summary of week 10

Another hectic week.

CA: 45th week of Catalan - 45080 reps.

DA: I finished two Danish audiobooks, or rather collections of short stories (from Loyalbooks). I also started watching the old series Matador. Three episodes so far.

GD: 46th week of Gaelic - 46040 reps.

I finished two written books in English: Elevation (Stephen King) and We are not amused (David Crystal). Other than that, I mostly consumed audiovisual media, e.g. The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers (but the Quenya/Sindarin input was too low, so I didn't log it...).

2019 - Summary of week 11

Another hectic week. (Will it ever stop?)

CA: 46th week of Catalan - 45980 reps.

DA: I finished another two Danish audiobooks from Librivox. Another Matador episode.

GD: 47th week of Gaelic - 46940 reps.

A brief exchange in French by the end of the week, and a phrase or two in German the same day. Yeah, and some Chinese. All at work, in the middle of nowhere.

2019 - Summary of week 12

CA: 47th week of Catalan - 47030 reps.

DA: Another Danish audiobook (or two?). Another Matador episode. I was on a business trip for a few days and the TV set in the hotel room happened to have access to a variety of radio channels, so I spent the evenings relaxing to DR P1.

GD: 48th week of Gaelic - 47990 reps.

No more Duolingo. I finally broke my streak of ~1040 days.

Not much language studying these days.

2019 - Summary of week 13

CA: 48th week of Catalan - 47780 reps.

DA: I finished Gullivers rejser. More Matador.

GD: 49th week of Gaelic - 48590 reps. I've reached B1.

A lot of my language time means "passive" work. Danish is a good example of this, as well as the current record-holder when it comes to minutes per day (~45 min). It feels like a language where I've made most progress. (At least comprehension-wise.)

DA: I listened to the crime documentary Dobbeltmordet. More Matador.

GD: 50th week of Gaelic - 49490 reps.
