2021 - Summary of week 10

One printed book finished - Living the Martial Way, mentioned a few weeks ago. Inspired by Moses, the reddit thread I stumbled on, and the recent 50languages thread, I've been thinking of doing some vocabulary/phrase book studying. Maybe next week.

On this week's playlist: Motets (BWV 225-230), Violin concertos (BWV 1041-1043), Tafelmusik (Telemann), and some of the Overtures/Suites (also Telemann). While programming or writing I listen to contemporary soundtrack composer Graham Plowman (on the tube).

NL: Loyal Books content: Ali Baba en de veertig roovers and Aladdin en de wonderlamp. I generally have to turn up the volume because of the sound quality. Maybe it's a "feature" of Librivox recordings.

None of the Librivox recordings I listen to is hard to hear. Maybe I have been lucky.

I can usually listen with the volume knob on 50%, but these recordings require up to 70%. I just have to remember to turn it down afterwards.

This evening's episode was all irish folk played by two German musicians, Gudrun Walther and Jürgen Treyz.

Thanks Dave - I'm not familiar with this particular duo, but I know Gudrun by name from the bands Goût d'hier (a friend of mine played in that band) and Cara (friends of the friend, so to speak).

I will have a look at the video right away.

2021 - Summary of week 11

This will be a short update. On the Tuesday evening I watched the concert that DaveAgain linked to (thanks again!). Eventually I finished the Stephen King novel.

NL: More Loyal Books content.

A short update, I know. I had plans to sit down and do some serious study on the Monday, but I had to throw those plans out the window. A very good friend had passed away during the night.

2021 - Summary of week 12

Two books finished, plus a quick read through Cleric's Challenge (which is an AD&D adventure that I will run - some day!). The university courses for next term have been released - deadline 15 April. Another two weeks of pondering...

I also spent some more time on Perl - and Python.

This week's reading was powered by the double album Diamanter by Olle Adolphson - one of Sweden's greatest songwriters of the 1900s. Another double album was Book of Souls: Live Chapter by no others than Iron Maiden.

Thanks for the warm comments and PMs. I'm feeling better now.

I miss playing D&D...but no time. Have enough projects. ;)
