2020 - Summary of week 21
Time for a short summary. Three books finished this week. Almost done with Slipt. I watched the second part of Der Überläufer. By the way, Badehotellet is back.
GA: More podcasts from the new series. COVID-19 is a major topic. Some interviewees with northern accents. I found an Ankified frequency list with 6500 headwords (actually 6453). And a spreadsheet (g-drive) with 6450 headwords (actually 6857). Next life...
PT: More Duolingo and stories.

2020 - Summary of week 22
I finished Slipt and started reading The Omen - another of those books within arm's reach. I watched Arrival - a science-fiction film with a xenolinguistic theme.
GA: I finished Tús Áite and started another programme series - Iris Aniar:
PT: More Duolingo and stories.

2020 - Summary of week 23
I finished six books this week - one was The Omen, then another four in Swedish, plus another in English. During a coffee break I was among code-switchers and heard more Punjabi than ever before.
GA: More Iris Aniar. Just before the weekend, I had a look at the latest (May 2020) exam from Modern Irish II - the same course I took back in 2014. Good to know where my gaps are...
PT: More Duolingo and stories. It struck me that desculpar means both apologize and forgive. Another example of two sides of the coin.

(Final) Summary of 2019
Sorry for the delay - I just realized that I hadn't posted a final summary. Here it is.
The winner is Norwegian. I listened to it every day for six months (~6 hours per week). "Don't break the chain." (-Jerry Seinfeld)
Books in 2019
197 in total. 84 books + 2 audiobooks in Swedish, 53 books + 4 audiobooks in English, 33 audiobooks/podcast series in Norwegian, 20 audiobooks/podcast series in Danish, and finally 1 book in German. What if I didn't count audiobooks and podcast series? Still 138 titles.
Achievements?
Very good listening skills in Norwegian and Danish.

2020 - Summary of week 24
Another six books finished this week - four comic book albums in Swedish (many of them three-in-one, around 180 pages), and two regular ones in English. I'm almost through my pile of library loans.
GA: More Iris Aniar. After a coffee break at work, a colleague approached me and said that they had had a visitor who was looking for literature about Celtic languages. The person was still in the building. Not that we have a lot of such literature (the two grammars by Nancy Stenson, then Gaeilge gan Stró vol 1), but I shared some articles I found online. As well as a shamelessly self-promoted copy of something I wrote in high school...

2020 - Summary of week 25
Four books finished this week - two in Swedish, two in English.
GA: More Iris Aniar. I really like the host's voice. This weekend I listened to two albums which I purchased last time I was in Ireland. The sextet Arcanadh performed during the final evening of Language and Culture week. They aren't super-trad, in fact not really trad at all, but some songs are in Irish.
PT: More Duolingo and stories. Portuguese has a lot more content than Irish. When I'm done with the course, my plan is to read something.

You inspire me to start setting book reading goals every week. I can do that, already, with the help of some bilingual picture books being read on youtube. I just need to schedule that in. Thanks.
