[Spoiler alert!] A character, on his first day in Stockholm, fell asleep on a packed bus, woke up in Uppsala, stayed the night in a hotel, and then got a lift back to the capital in the back of a delivery van. :)

[Spoiler alert!] It's the same story in Korean, but set in Korea. :)

Same story in Dutch, too. Are they all just the same stories translated into many different languages?

Haha you've shattered the illusion that I was enjoying authentic cultural insights instead of copy-paste, find-and-replace kimchi to meatballs. I did suspect something actually based on the way some social situations played out in an un-Swedish manor.

Absolutely. Ignoring SRS and other deliberate vocabulary study, I'm just a "temporarily embarassed native" looking up words as I consume content. Feeding the flashcard fiend can quickly become a chore, but can be an efficient way to make progress. I'll see how I go.

German

More of Marina Weisband’s interview.

Watching the animated film Soul (German dub). Actually, I watched it twice following a suggestion to watch things again and again to notice new things every time.

Spanish

Enjoying El laberinto del fauno (Pan’s Labyrinth). It’s been years since I last saw it, but so many lines of dialogue are familiar still.

German

Reading more of Rotwild still. Haven't made enough time with it to keep the momentum going, but it's still good.

Started watching Die Kaiserin (The Empress) on Netflix. So far, so good.

French

Watched a bit of the film Athena on Netflix. It's about a clash between police and the residents of a Paris banlieue. Impressive cinematography but not really my thing. Also, if you're ever feeling too confident in your French abilities, go listen to some of that rapid colloquial speech. ;)
