Had to write a large essay today, so I didn't have a ton of time to study my languages! I wanted to review my Russian lesson again before moving onto the next one, but it'll have to wait I guess! No Stendhal today either.

Almost a reverse of yesterday time-wise! Still another lazy day, but today I read a lot for class and a decent amount on my own. I'm understanding Stendhal more now, and as a language learner, I loved the scene with the Latin recitation of the Bible. Le Rouge et le noir is starting to be a little more fun (even if its still pretty tough!).

90 minutes reading (Stendhal and Rowling)

Another busy day, another gust of wind or drop of rain! All's the same!

I can't wait for Thanksgiving break, even if I have to drive 4 hours to get home on Friday. I got my copy of Complete Old English and An Anglo-Saxon Reader in Prose and Verse in the mail today, but I'm holding off until Winter break I think. I still have too many (upcoming and current) readings and essays for class and the reading challenge for French to do.

Read some Wikipedia articles today about Akkadian... oh if only I had all the time in the world!

Unfortunately, I missed the past few days! School has been super hectic, but today I drove back home and I'll be home for a week. I plan to read a good amount and put some TY Russian lessons into Anki, but I'd also like to just relax . Can't forget to remind myself that Russian doesn't have much of a dead-line, and Old English isn't too crucial (for right now). Nonetheless, I downloaded and printed a ~LLPSI Old English clone I found on the Old English Discord, so maybe going through that and taking notes on it will be my weekly assignment, along with an Anki deck I found online and started taking a few cards from daily.

Also, I drove a new friend of mine home from school, as she lives in the same state as me, and we had a fantastic conversation about religion and Christianity in particular. She mentioned "Agape" love and all that Bible talk made me pick up my Greek NT and I read a few lines with the help of Dobson. I'm not going back to Greek for now by any means, but it was still fun!

I'll try and get back to Stendhal and Rowling this week, and get back to watching HXH in French- just sucks the website is so hit or miss.

Time
French
20 minutes watching (1 episode)
Greek
15 minutes reading (NT/Dobson)
Russian
30 minutes studying/reviewing (TYR)

Another day of acclimating to being home. Started doing the LLPSI style Old English packet. It was interesting. Still no Stendhal, tho... teehee.

Went out to the bar with some friends to celebrate a birthday. Very lazy day. One step at a time. Going to read some of the Hobbit then head off to bed!

I can't believe we're already this far into the month already!

I started off today with some language study- OE and Russian- and after I felt a little fried. I think that 2 languages is my maximum for a day, and that after I study I just need a break and to let my mind rest. I felt really heavy brain fog after studying, which is so odd, since around a year ago today I just never felt brain fog from studying my languages! Maybe it's just coming and going and it's here now, and the heavy mental exercise required to study languages just exacerbates it. I've been thinking, and I think the best idea would be to think of studying in a different way. I've always been someone who supports the idea of studying a language everyday to ensure progress, but I think in order to keep French my main priority, all while keeping up with Russian and prepping for OE, I am going to start alternating my studying and mediate it with Anki.

It would look something like doing an ASSIMIL lesson, making the cards for it, and then taking a few days to rep them out. In those days I will do very little Russian other than the ASSIMIL, and will instead maybe do a Teach Yourself OE lesson, or more likely just reread things from class or my own studies, and then go back and forth, alternating daily/every few days.

Naturally, my OE will improve faster next semester, as I will be taking it as a course (so I really hope study languages isn't what gives me a headache, not that that would make any sense, anyways!), but I think just doing one or two lessons of ASSIMIL and/or TYS a week for Russian might be a good idea. Maybe I could do 15 minutes of listening on those "non-study days" just to keep up, but I don't wanna make a promise I can't keep! This is all theory anyway, and if stress/time calls for it, I might have to put Russian on a pause for my school work (not that I want that to happen).

Today was great, despite the brain fog. I got to see my brothers and their significant others (including a new-er member of the family, my [new] sister-in-law!), and I've missed them since I've been up at Uni. I started reading The Hobbit, and it's such a fun read! All the reading about OE has put me in a Tolkien mood! My brother and I played some video games, and I sat by the fireplace for a lot of the day.
