jeffers
the captions were auto-generated. Is this true of all of the episodes? My experience with auto-generated CC's has been poor, but I suppose they would have a better chance of getting it right in a documentary.
I agree with you. See my recent log for other documentaries........

Is it okay to post in French on your log ? If anything I can get people to see and fix my errors!

Always nice to get your input but maybe best not to use this thread for corrections on your French. If I am not mistaken, I believe you already have one thread up for that purpose.

Since I often don't seem to be able to agree with the crowd when it comes to the greats of French literature (ie, Proust, etc.) I thought I might go a step further and speak glowingly about an author that I just reread after a couple years away: L'Amant by Marguerite Duras. She is an author who is widely scorned and dismissed in her own country.

The movie based on this book was nice and having maybe 30% similarity to the book, but the book itself has passages of real poetry in prose. I find the rhythms, insights, and poignancy of this book to be both beautiful and powerful.

Rereading the book also helps to refresh the vocabulary.

FYI, recently I added the "ScaleImg" button to the text editor. So now for image links (not attachments) you can resize the linked image.

To do this, click the "ScaleImg=" button then put the link inside it. After the equals sign, you put the scale you want in pixels. For the above I used 100,150 with 100 being the width and 150 the height.

Code: Select all

Rick

Apologies for bothering you but my code doesn't bring up the image the way it did for you. Could you tell me where I went wrong?

Thanks.
