Do you have to do much research for your book writing?

Not so much for the fiction books. Although saying that I did have to do about 3 hours research for a scene today. Lol.

EDIT: This lack of research up front, does mean I often end up doing changes after fact checking. So I do more research now than I used too. Which BTW is one of the reasons I like to write Fantasy novels. My world, my rules, no research since I just make it up!

well I think I am offically sick of Mandarin. The problem is the thirty minutes every day rather than the langauges. I find myself spaceing out a lot and I'm not really sure if this is time well spent. It isn't a habit, mostly because since the lock down I'm doing it at different times and I often end up doing something late in the day when I'm tired because I forgot.

I just passed the 300 day streak in clozemanster for Italian, and I'm pretty happy about that. So I suppose I shouldn't complain about working daily. However, I have noticed a problem with this as well. I'm just using multiple choice option for the last few days just to get it over with.

We will see I suppose near the end of the year.

I'm excited for the SC to start soon. But I don't know if I should do French or Italian. Still mulling that one over. I have been reading a couple of French books the last couple of weeks and they are easy. That would be the easy choice. I could read more, and faster than Italian. Which means I should pick Italian since that needs the most work!

SC starts soon. I think I'm going to go with French & Italian. I'm already doing Chinese every day and I couldn't read in that if I wanted to.

There are 610 days in this SC. So I could watch all the required movies if I just made sure to watch 15 minutes per day. I only need to read 9 pages every day to complete the reading challenge. Seems easy huh? However, have to double all that if I want to do 2 challenges. 1 hour and 18 pages per day.

I have done a few of these challenges now, and while I have completed the film portions a number of times I have never managed to complete the reading portion. This time I am determined to do it and complete both reading and film sections of both languages.

I have managed to get to 310 days in Clozemaster, so if I can get through another 55 days doing it then I'll probably pack that in. Perhaps not, it is a habit now after all. I've also managed to do 121 straight days of Chinese, so I should be able to be consistent with the SC.

You don't need a forum, thread, or bot to read a book or watch a film! :D

So true!

But if you don't track through the bot, did you actually read the book or watch the film?

Long ago I was in a meeting with a CFO and the Head of IT. The CFO was really angry and screaming because his Excel kept crashing. He screamed at the IT guy ( I removed the curse words ) ; "I have had enough! I want to do my accounts and I want a system that doesn't crash and always works!" The Head of IT, sick of the abuse stood up, slammed his notepad and pen down on the table in front of the CFO, "There you are!" Then he walked out.

Myself and the young accounts girl with me stood and awkwardly made our way to the door.

I was never good at math, but I notice something strange here. If in one SC you need to read 9 pages and 18 pages in two challenges why the time spend on movies is multiplied by four? It is 30 minutes watching for one and an hour for two or 15 minutes for one and half an hour for two? Or there is some other logic behind it?

No you're right. I doubled twice by mistake.
