23 May
Worked from home today and it was the first time I'd done that since last Monday, so it kinda felt like a treat :)

Russian
Cleared my Memrise reviews before dinner and then started the adverbs chapter in TY Russian. As predicted, it seems like a pretty nice chapter. The next chapter is about numerals, so I need to enjoy this one while I can

Also read another short chapter of Ken Follett. The main word I looked up was "кубок", which in the context used in the book meant "trophy".

24 May
Worked from home this morning and then had a meeting a few miles away that I needed to go out to this afternoon.

Russian
I cleared my Memrise reviews this afternoon and then I didn't feel like doing any grammar, not even easy grammar like adverbs, so I decided to watch some TV instead. I've been really rubbish at watching Russian TV recently, so this was probably a good decision. I'm not in the middle of a series at the moment so I decided to watch an episode of the travel programme 'Орёл и Решка'. I chose an episode about Mallorca, because I'm going to Mallorca for the first time in a few weeks and it's been quite a last minute decision so I don't really have any firm plans yet. It was nice to see some shots of the island and - in between the annoying segments about fast cars and expensive meals - I learned some useful things, like the fact that the airport bus costs €5 :)

25 May
At home again today, but a fairly busy day.

Russian
I didn't feel like doing loads this evening so I watched another episode of 'Орёл и Решка'. This one was also about Mallorca but it was more recent than the episode I watched yesterday, filmed some time during the pandemic. I learned a bit more about the island which was nice, because it's really not a place I know a lot about. It looks really beautiful and there's clearly a lot more to it than Magaluf, which is a relief  But because the presenters were visiting during the pandemic, the prices paid by the girl doing the budget travel are nothing like the current prices for this summer. She managed to get a room in Palma for €30 and rent a car for a day for something like €27  I couldn't find a room for less than £100/night and car hire would have cost more than the actual flights to get to Mallorca in the first place!

Croatian
The Bosnian band Dubioza kolektiv released a new album a couple of weeks ago and I'm slowly working my way through the songs. The one below is my favourite so far :)

Gonna listen to this song tonight. I've recently fallen in love with Natali Dizdar.

This one might be a better bet: you can switch the subtitles between Bosnian and English :)

26 June
I had a meeting in London today. So I spent half the day getting to London, sat in a meeting for an hour and then spent half the day getting back. Remember when life used to be like that all the time?! It feels so inefficient now. This meeting could totally have been a call.

Russian
I did some Memrise reviews when I was bored stiff in Euston station. There's one train per hour to my station and I missed one by about ten minutes, so I had quite a lot of time standing around to fill. This evening I continued with Орёл и Решка and watched an episode about Arizona. Learned lots :)

27 May
I had a normal day of work today but then this evening I was off to Daventry, where I'm taking place in an Esperanto trustee meeting this weekend.

Russian
I knew it was going to be a difficult day to fit in any Russian because I was working, then travelling and socialising. That meant that I did something I normally try to avoid and watched some Russian video while on the treadmill before breakfast. I watched another episode of Орёл и Решка. This one was about Colorado. It felt like a very long 45 minutes but I got through it!

Denver is great. Lived there 2.5 years, after 4+ years in Alaska, so the winters didn't seem so cold. ;)

28 May
Most of today has been in a meeting, as expected.

Russian
That means not a very exciting update for my log. I cleared some Memrise reviews this morning while waiting for breakfast and then cleared a few more this evening once the meeting was over. I've also read a very short chapter of 'Третий близнец' to take me up to 30 mins. The beauty of this book is that it's a nice small paperback, so just the right size for packing when I'm travelling :)
