There is a lot of cheap audiobooks in russian with matching texts easily available. I discovered this treasure trove four years ago. Before that my study of russian was akin to the study of a dead language, heavy on grammar and vocabulary, and had stalled. Since then I have been reading books in russian by this way: While I am reading a book in russian, I am also listening it in russian. By doing that my listening comprehension of russian has enhanced and my enjoying has increased.
Yesterday I finished Огнем и мечом, a book by Henryk Sienkievicz, a polish writer better known as the author of Quo Vadis.
Today I have started reading and listening Огненный ангел, a book by Валерий Брюсов.
I welcome corrections in any language (english and russian)

To say I'm impressed with your choice is to say nothing.
I read both of the books as a teenager and can't remember much, but what I would definitely say is that they can't be easy reading for a learner.
About Валерий Брюсов. For Russians, he's way better known as a poet, Огненный ангел being one of the two (?) pieces of prose he ever wrote. Besides, he was (or, was eager to be) a sort of trendsetter/organiser/manager (sorry, can't find the proper word) for fellow poets. An activist with strong leadership tendencies, that's what he was.
Just to add some cultural context, here's the link to Sergey Prokofyev's opera based on the novel:

Sung in Russian with Russian subs.
Anyway, it's much shorter than the audiobook

Re: Russian by audiobooks with matching texts
Omg, you're planning to read Gennady Gor! He's such an underestimated writer and his biography is interesting in its own way. He started as an avant-garde writer in 1920s but then, because of repressions, he dropped literally experiments and started to write more 'conventional' prose (aka social realism) and in 1950s he transformed himself into a sci-fi writer (but you can still detect a streak of weirdness in his prose — I'm reading his Изваяние now). There's a recent resurge of interest in his writings since a lot of his earlier more experimental works has been rediscovered and published.
PS. Also, I consider myself as an avid reader but it's the first time in my life that I see the word дреко́льe. I guess you don't need it:)
