Can I ask which French graded readers you are/were using as well as information about Le petit Nicolas? Especially where to get then reasonably cheap.

Random ones I get my hands on (eg. 2nd hand), mostly Cle, Hachette, Klett, Digital Publishing. The latter I like best (non-adapted literature extracts with footnote glosses in German), but their grading is off (start with their A1 level once you are A2/B1). Their audiobooks for petit Nicolas stories are excellent, they really capture the 9-year-old feeling.

Le petit Nicolas
The original 5 books cost 5€ each in kindle format. The histoires inédites (80 stories in book 1) I got from a 2nd hand bookstore for 5€. They were also republished as many short books similar to the originals in length, again 5€ per book in kindle format.

Trying to figure out my XLex score ... I tried not to guess but leave unclear fields empty
Screenshot_20220104-193936.png

Should be roughly a score of 3400
Interestingly I get 23/30 for 5k and 21/30 for 10k here if I allow some guessing: https://www.lextutor.ca/tests/ttv/
or 21 and 12 if I try to avoid complete guesswork (23 and 24 for 2k and 3k)
edit: mystery solved, the 2k and 5k levels sample 2000 words each, the 10k level even 5000. this should give me 5733 out of 10k words then. or 5400 if we combine the more detailed result of test 1 with the 10k result of test 2.

Italian is at 2400
