I just finished chapter 18 of “le francais par la méthode nature.” It’s still brilliant, but I find I need the help of Professor Google more and more. I don’t actually think the book was designed for self-teaching, so I can’t really complain. (And Professor Google is very, very good at French grammar!) How are you finding the later chapters?

ch 21 starts a new story line that is more interesting than family Duclos, but the chapters get quite lengthy. I'm not too bothered by the grammar or the occasional ambiguous word, however I do feel the occasional need for review. F.x. after chapter 28, I restarted at chapter 21 to regain momentum.
I'm not doing any exercises at this point.

I’m in a completely different boat. I already have a B2 reading level, obtained by reading French novels, and I can read chapter 50 just fine. I’m trying to go back and actually learn French grammar. So I’m doing all the exercises and trying to understand everything. I actually really endorse what you are doing. Extensive reading and not really caring about the grammar totally works, it got me to B2 fairly painlessly. But you have to learn the grammar sometime if you want to write…

Your method seems really cool. How do you use the nature method? Do you just watch the videos / read while listening each one once a day? Or do you review them multiple times?

I try to keep it simple, at least for French. So I read through the text of 1 block (5-10 chapters) making use of the margin notes to understand like 99%. No audio, no video, no immediate rereads. I also read through the resumés (grammar explanations in French). Then I go back and read through the whole block again before moving on. Takes me 1-2 days per chapter, and I do take the random day off.
