Week 9 update:
...eventually also got pneumonia and got to do even less. I did get to finish キノの旅5, which was pretty interesting. Now I want to finish No Game No Life 2. I didn't get to add new cards every day in Anki this week. Sometimes I had trouble finishing my reviews for the day, so on those days I didn't add new cards. I've configured the load balancer plugin to help deal with the inconsistent review scheduling I've got now, but hopefully that will level out over the next couple weeks. On Saturday alone I spent 110 minutes on Anki, reviewing and adding 821 cards all because of the inconsistent scheduling.

Goals: None were set.

End of week 9 Anki stats:
JP MATURE: 9071 (+75)
JP YOUNG: 705 (-40)
ZH MATURE: 1454 (+190)
ZH YOUNG: 350 (-110)

Tell me about it, it sure is. I did spread it out over the day but it still was super boring... Hopefully it won't happen again. I'll be taking the J-CAT again sometime this week as well, I wonder what the difference will be with last year.

Do you get a sort of rush from doing a lot of vocabulary review?

When I'm doing well at it, I get a little disappointed when I run out of words that are ready. Maybe I'm a boring person, but I like spending a lot of time drilling words. Maybe that'll change when I get better and find myself spending more time with books.

It's not that I want to do them, I just noticed that it really works for me. I pretty much only use premade decks and have because of that rarely ran out of words or sentences to learn. I do have that problem with my Korean vocabulary deck of the textbook I use. I mostly learn cards from the premade grammar sentence deck that has a lot of sentences of Talk To Me In Korean.

Once I have enough words I will tackle native content though. I just don't like to do it when I have to look up pretty much every word and grammar pattern.
