Week 18 update:
Pretty solid week. I caught up with my Remembering the Kanji reviews which have been in the process the past couple months. This weekend I started watched ハイキュー and ended up binge watching all of S1 in just two days ^^'. I'm really noticing my progress in Korean, it's overtaking my Chinese despite being 1000 cards behind in Anki. Listening to Talk To Me In Korean during my commute has been a huge help so far. I'm currently in the middle of level five. I'm aiming to finish TTMIK by the end of June, that should give me a basic foundation for reading Korean manhwa/webtoons together with a dictionary.

Goals:
  • JP: Read 50 book pages (~3h)
Only read about half of that.
  • KR: TTMIK daily listening during commute (3h)
  • KR: できる韓国語・初級2 (2h)
  • JP/KR/ZH: Keep up Anki streak (~3h)

End of week 10 Anki stats:
JP MATURE: 9631 (+223)
JP YOUNG: 411 (-157)
ZH MATURE: 2127 (+25)
ZH YOUNG: 262 (+115)
KR MATURE: 1169 (+32)
KR YOUNG: 194 (+74)
TOTAL MATURE: 12927 (+280)
TOTAL YOUNG: 867 (+32)

SRS Challenge:
JP: 76/5000
ZH: 160/8000
KR: 121/7000

Super challenge:
Japanese: 29/5000 pages, 580/9000 minutes
Korean: 0/2500 pages, 60/4500 minutes

Stats for 2016#18:

Goals for week 19 (~13h):
  • JP: Read 50 book pages (~4h)
  • KR: TTMIK daily listening during commute (~3h)

Week 19 update:
Finished level 5 of Talk To Me In Korean. Yesterday I took the J-CAT again and ended up with the following scores:

Listening: 77
Vocabulary: 58
Grammar: 65
Reading: 68

Overall I'm happy with these. I did drop a couple points in vocabulary, but that's probably because I haven't really done a lot of vocabulary study the past year. I'm really surprised how much my listening seems to have improved. I did watch a lot of anime ever since I got back home, but before then I didn't really have much audio input. Grammar and reading had some modest improvements, reflecting the amount of time I've put into those.

I've joined a discord server with a lot of Japanese learners. It looks like I can practice speaking Japanese over there. For the time being I will just observe and see how I fit into the group. That's it for this week, hopefully I'll meet my goals in week 20.

Goals:
  • JP: Read 50 book pages (~3h)
Didn't read at all...getting so lazy.
  • KR: TTMIK daily listening during commute (3h)
  • KR: できる韓国語・初級2 (2h)
    Only got one session in.
  • JP/KR/ZH: Keep up Anki streak (~3h)

End of week 19 Anki stats:
JP MATURE: 9696 (+65)
JP YOUNG: 397 (-14)
ZH MATURE: 2138 (+11)

Week 20 update:
A bit late but here we go. I've finished my internship and will be graduating next month. I've noticed that I actually study less when I have more time...it's weird. Haven't been able to make a habit of adding new Anki cards/reading/shadowing/textbook studying daily yet, but that should settle in over the next couple weeks I hope. Week 21 is a break for me, I've studied but haven't really chased after a particular goal.

Goals:
  • JP: Read 50 book pages (~3h)
    37 pages...almost
  • KR: TTMIK daily listening during commute (3h)
  • JP: Daily shadowing (~1h)
  • JP/KR/ZH: Keep up Anki streak (~3h)

End of week 20 Anki stats:

Week 23 update:
I'm really bad at posting these weekly. Didn't really bother with Tadoku so far but will hopefully change that this week. I've got one last presentation left for school and after that I will have graduated. I'll be having an interview in Japanese in the near future so I'll be brushing up on my 敬語. I just finished chapter 1 of Yotsuba in Korean, this was the first time I've been able to read in Korean without going crazy. I still had to look up a lot but my grammar is already quite there for texts of this level.

Just curious, what's the meaning of that word which has the Kanji for "long woman"?

It means the eldest daughter in a family. 長男 means the eldest son. I hope Nandemonai doesn't mind me answering here.

How to read it? Is it "nagajo"/"nagaonna"?

It's choujo (長女) and chounan (長男). In this case 長 gives a meaning like 'leader' rather than 'long.' The word is the same in Korean (from the same Chinese word) but pronounced the Korean way (don't ask me to transcribe hangul, though)
