Hello. My name is Theo and I am trying to learn German. I have picked up the "Spektrum A1" and I am trying to go through 1 unit per week.
Today I finished the second unit. The first one was about learning how to give information about yourself and the second one was about jobs and hobbies etc. I find this book very organized which helps me a lot. The only thing I want is to find someone to practice the speaking parts of the units.
I will try to log my progress here.
So here it goes :
Hallo.

Re: Theo's German Journey
So I just finished unit 3 from Spektrum a1. It was somewhat hard. This chapter deals with things that you can do in a city. Visiting museums, running into friends, ordering, etc.
It was very interesting and I studied very hard. I think I will just stay with this textbook for now. I understand the appeal of using many resources but I am not gonna do that because I believe I would lose interest if I had the stress of carving my own learning path and also I have to trust that these professionals that make these books know what they are doing.
I study every day at least for two hours. It might seem a lot but I want to be very thorough and I try to learn all the new words I encounter and really practice the grammar I am learning.
So that is my small update.

Willkommen! I'm not a native German speaker, but I think this is an Englishism. I think it should be "Ich heiße Theo" or "Ich bin der Theo".
Edit: Nevermind, apparently "Mein Name ist" is also correct.
