CNaVT Maatschappelijk Informeel in.

Re: Road to B1 in Dutch
Decided to give the B1 practise papers a spin - found out the hard way that they don't come with the *whole* audio.
One of them (the one about social media) I was very comfortable with and the other, while not as strong, really wasn't that bad either. Just a shame I couldn't listen to the entire clips.
Slightly less aprehensive given I've got another five months to study and train my skills.

Re: Road to B1 in Dutch
No Linguaphone tonight as I have a university exam on Monday and wanted to do some revision instead.
Finished one of my lower-level Dutch readers though (quite the task given how many mistakes there were...) and will start reading some monolingual children's books from next week. Also been watching one episode of Dutch with Kim per night to train listening skills.

Re: Road to B1 in Dutch
Same as last night - no Linguaphone given I have an exam tomorrow morning.
Still gonna do a bit of light reading and listening.
Have very annoyingly lost my copy of Teach Yourself Complete Danish which has thrown a little spanner in my future plans. Hoping to find it because I'd rather not spend £30 on a replacement

Vooltoid always sounded wrong to me in my head so thanks for pointing that out.

I was trying to say when I finish the Linguaphone course I'd likely feel comfortable entering for the CNaVT B1 exam.

I was just trying to use 'inschrijven' as a separable verb.

I get the feeling - are you an academic btw? - that you tend toward difficult constructions. It's probably normal for educated people. I used to worry about sounding 'less educated' in Dutch, because somehow, and very unlike French whose educated register is similar to English, it used to feel like I was using unsophisticated language. This is not knocking Dutch, but I've found that what appears to educated ears and eyes in English as 'simple' is actually perfectly good Dutch fro the Dutch point-of-view. I feel okay now defaulting to 'simpler' constructions. Though I know there is a level of Dutch with more complication, yet that is just like overblown constructions in English.
With that said, I'd feel myself drawn to something pared down like:
dan schrijf ik me in voor...dan meld ik me aan voor...
Dan zou ik me in kunnen schrijven/dan zou ik me kunnen inschrijven/aanmelden (also possible)
Believe me, on an exam they'll enjoy well-constructed simplicity above complication with minor errors.
