Haha the hardest thing about learning a language is not learning the language, but rather not giving in to learning another one XD

The problem is that learning several languages at a low level is easy but learning one language at a high level is difficult.

Request approved.
Yay!
No, seriously, my currently listed intermediate languages are in the B-range, and the plan was (is) to bring them up to C1 before allowing myself to return to the ones I've had fun with before, and only when I actually have some proficiency in those, I'm allowed to pick up a new one. I've been a good girl, all in all, but ... Mongolian is so cool.

Hello Bao
I've just spent the last ten minutes or so reading up on your log from the beginning, it sounds like you're doing great. I agree completely with others on here who have said that the hardest thing about learning another language to a higher level is not the actual learning itself, but resisting the temptation to succumb to wanderlust and start learning another language on top of the half a dozen many of us have already begun. What is it that draws you to Mongolian? You've had a certain draw towards it for a number of years now if I remember right.
On top of that, I empathise with your struggle to avoid la bise as even though I still live in England (sadly), one of my best friends is French and another lived in France for nearly ten years, so I still struggle to stop them from doing that with me.
Good luck and keep at it!

잭이 왔어요!
I'm fine, just procrastinating on studying for the exams. I do half an hour of studying, and then half a day of dawdling around. \:D/
Mongolian just sounds cool. The palatalization is crazy.
Now, it seems at some point I understood that I won't be able to become any good in a language without having native speaking friends who use that language with me. More than that, I actually block my developing active skills when I lack a social model to copy. So for the time being Mongolian is just a pipe dream for me, same as Cantonese.
But it sounds so cool.

Can you hear the Steppes calling? Resistance is futile.

I do, I do!
You know what? Let's see if I can make friends with some Mongolian speakers. If so ... I will give in to the temptation.

Here a TAC and there a TAC and hey, hey ♪ hey ♫
Tempted to join, but a) I know I actually won't keep on posting, and I will feel envious of all those people who manage to keep moving towards their goals and b) I should be reviewing maths and physics for the upcoming exams ...
In lwt, the not-yet-entered word count for new texts has dropped to 20-25%.
I also started adding Japanese texts, just because it's there.
On the other hand, I feel like I completely forgot all of my little active French in the two weeks I spent in Germany. Ugh.
