Thanks! I feel like I'm still recovering. Been a week since my mum got her negative test (I haven't actually been tested, меня не посчитали )
BCMS question, how do you perceive the difference between sjetan and tužan?
I'm still reading Luka's biography and when describing what he felt when his first coach passed away a few years ago, he says "Bio sam više sjetan nego tužan". I have some intuitive understanding of these words but this made me wonder about the nuances.

Re: Serpent's cyclic log
I don't know for sure but I'd think of tužan as being really upset and sad, and sjetan as being a bit downcast; more in a nostalgic kind of way, like thinking back to the good times you had together and regretting that you won't be able to share them again.

RIP Lev Rubinstein.
I used to work with his daughter btw, she's a polyglot. Turkish, a couple Romance languages (definitely Spanish, probably French as well), now also Hebrew.

Re: Serpent's cyclic log
https://virology.ws/2018/11/20/paul-has-measles/ A free e-book about measles in multiple languages, also available as video and paperback in a couple langs.
My current main "fandom" is adult vaccination tbh. I'm glad I got the measles vaccine shortly before the current epidemic. I was vaccinated as a kid but I didn't know I likely never got the second one.
I had 11 different shots in 2023 (including covid) and a similar number in 2022.
It's fascinating how many similarities there are between healthcare and language teaching We also talk about having to look for information on your own and using a doctor as a tool (sorry to those who do provide accurate and timely information without unnecessary delays).
Free multilingual resources are welcome obviously. Please no debating on my log.

Re: Serpent's cyclic log
This is a great resource, thanks for sharing Serpent!
I was pleased to see my target languages were all represented (Hindi, German, French). I suspect that availability for "non-core-european languages" was based on needs, and as South Korea has a very high vaccination rate there was no need for the booklet in Korean.

Re: Serpent's cyclic log
Another attempt to get back into reading.
: : Luka Modrić - Moja igra (chapters)
: : Machado de Assis - Dom Casmurro (chapters)
: : John Foot - Calcio: storia dello sport che ha fatto l'Italia (chapters)
: Pier Vittorio Tondelli - Camere separate
: Stephen Clarke - How the French Won Waterloo (Or Think They Did)
: Marko Annala - Värityskirja
: Antti Tervasmaa - The Life and Times of an Ordinary Captain: Forty Years of Flying
: Christiane F - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo
: Zinaida Lindén - U očekivanju potresa
(copied from the previous progress post so the numbers might change)
also yay my ereader still works, I'm not sure I had switched it on since 2020 The DRM-protected books also work (knock on wood)
Some page numbers for personal reference, I'll make progress bars as necessary:
Europa civiltà chapter 8/p 53
Trans Europa Express p 22 (fascinating book about a trip that is literally impossible nowadays)
Eurolandia 60
Danubio p 66
Napoli 86
La gatta di Varsavia 75
because of the super challenge I've read the first 50 pages in many books but then never finished them
