At this point, I'd like to ask you about your "___ counts as ____" system. Sometimes you mention having read ___ pages, then you state that they count as, e.g., 5. So how does that system of calculation work?

It was in the Super Challenge discussion thread. What counts as "1 page" is either:
Actually 1 page in your target language.
2 pages of a grammar book if it is explained not in your target language.
2 pages of a dictionary.
3 song lyrics.
5 pages of comic or picture-heavy book like schoolbook.

I see. And as for dictionaries, now you told us about its calculation value. But do you actually read them?? When I tried doing so, it made me bored rather quickly. In addition to the fact that many pages would contain too many words that one hardly could imagine meeting too often in just any text or audio.

Yes, I do read them and I do get bored quickly. That's why my reading dictionaries submission never goes beyond 1 page per entry.

I am not someone who keeps telling people what "they should do" or anything. But as for what I personally have been doing: I entirely (!) quit reading dictionary pages, even if I do look up single words sometimes. Reading whole dictionary pages, no matter how often, (almost / entirely) extinguished my language learning interest at some point in the past. Yes, before that current and very intense learning passion had been given to me, I already fully quit learning just any language, and this didn't happen just once or twice.

So, if I don't know what the Arabic means but I know what the Japanese means, I learn new Arabic vocab. So, if I don't know what the Arabic means but I know what the Japanese means, I learn new Arabic vocab. Conversely, if I don't know what the Japanese means but I know what the Arabic means, I learn new Japanese vocab.

Actually, I read both of monolingual dictionaries (ES / FR) and bilingual ones (DE <-> ES/FR/IT/PT/...). But your case is different. Because neither of the language pairs is your native one. Arigatoo gozaimasu and shukran jazilan for pointing me in that direction, Monox colega colega.
