"Taro'r post" literally means "hit the post", where "post" means the same as English "post" in the sense of "mail". Perhaps at one time, people wrote in, but now they phone in or email. Usually it is studio-based with phone-in guests, but occasionally it goes out on the road. Occasionally SSiW learners have been known to phone in / be interviewed.

Got back into reading "Hi iw fy ffrind" by Bethan Gwanas, which I started ages ago, but got side-tracked. I'd read the sequel before (wrong way round, of course), and it was da iawn - very good.
I'm using these books mostly to pick up new vocabulary, so it's fairly slow going. Occasionally I will forget about spotting new words for a bit and just "read for gist" and not worry about missing details. This book and its sequel are very dialogue-rich and very colloquial (so much so that it's hard to make out some bits and you have to do some creative guessing ... and a dictionary won't help ... google just might). It's essentially northern Welsh, although occasionally some things I would think of as southernisms crop up and I'm not sure why (e.g. the "iw" in the title, which means "She is my friend").
Anyway, finished chapter 2. I've now got some more words to "harvest".
